Jonathan Green, Scott Russell To Headline Announcing Team For AMA Pro Road Racing Broadcasts On CBS Sports TV
Thats good news about Screamin' Johnny Green. He's fun to listen to and sure as hell doesn't hold back on the enthusiasm.
would rather have steve martin than the screamer green, they work well together but martin is the key
Unfortunately however, Greg White announced today he IS NOT going to be involved, and that sucks... Though he'll still do MotoGP on Speed/FoxSports1 and his webshow.
Interesting - not likely, but interesting. I would love to see it next year, though. Would definitely ramp up some interest.
I just saw the notice on the RRW FB page. What complete bullshit. The announced TV package stated I guess I shouldn't have assumed they would cover every race. Fook! And to be such weasels and not even tell Laguna management. This really hurts the teams and riders that get sponsorship based on the two big events. I'm fuming.
With new sports networks scuttling around cable TV like cockroaches, it beggars belief that the AMA couldn't negotiate a deal.
It's better than that. They told everyone--teams, sponsors, promoters, tracks, media, fans--they had a deal. And they were apparently going to let everyone show up at Laguna to discover for themselves that there would be no television coverage. I suppose it's possible they did have a deal, and it was CBS Sports that withdrew suddenly.
Doesn't seem like anyone withdrew. The $#*%ers never had a TV deal for this weekend. This sucks on every level. When was the last time there was no television coverage (either live or tape delayed) of an AMA Pro Road Race? Early '90s maybe?
