Yes the standard vinly or the all carbon would be good choices.

Thought I would post a photo of my new seat.

Many thanks to Lendon for making me a seat for my KLR with carbon sides and plain vinyl top. I'm really happy with it and the service couldn't have been better.

    Cheers to all,

    Pete

    Bundy,

Thanks for setting me up with the custom short seat for my 2009 KLX250S. It is a big improvement in comfort and seat height. The rack also worked out great.

SC seat is taller at the front, and softer than very hard Sargent. Lower Angle:

The seat is higher...in the low position it sits nearly as high as the stock seat in the high position...

    Riding tomorrow and this weekend...

    Stay tuned!

First Impressions of the Seat Concepts Seat - Based on a 15 minute commute into work this morning. 36 degrees out, sunny and the bike just turned 10,000 miles. :ricky

I have a ~28" inseam, and this seat is taller than stock and taller than the Sargent by close to an inch, I would guess. I am definitely on my toes now.

The SC foam has a very dense but cushy feel, so it absorbs shocks well. The foam on the Sargent seems to transfer shocks and vibrations through the seat much more. The SC foam is also very thermally stable, that is it doesn't seem to change much as temps change. It was soft at 36 degrees, and didn't get much softer as it warmed under me.

The SC cover strikes a nice balance between grippy and slippery. I did not slide around on it at all, but could move with ease when needed. It is grippier than the Sargent, but slightly less so than the stocker.

Comfort. Well, 15 minutes is really not enough to tell, but it felt good. The Corbin I had hurt within 2 minutes, so this is progress. The Sargent has me squirming in 1.5 to 2 hours. I hope to put in a 4 hour ride this afternoon if I can escape from work... More info to follow.

For taller riders, this is surely a great option. The bang for the buck factor is huge! :clap

I rode out to pick up my seat from the guys at SC... great shop and nice guys!! that was about 5,000 miles ago for my 2011 Wee.

Question... how long does it take for the seat to break in?? foam still seems a lil too hard for my arse. i put a sheepskin on top and that seems to help... but thought i'd ask.

Yeah, firmer foam, I fubared my back riding non stop for 2 weeks in Colorado on a stock seat. All better now, but it made it easier to part with the coin, no lengthy wait either. :clap

If I mailed you the pillion seat from my 2012 R1200 GS would you be able to change out the stock foam for something softer and make more of a rise towards the front of the seat?

Well after almost a year with their seat for my Wee, it just never felt right for my a$$. i contacted Seat Concepts and he said why didn't i contact them sooner to help me with their seat... so today i was able to ride out to their shop and switch out the foam and wow what a difference!!! no charge to boot!! i will have to buy him a beer :freaky

While i was there i had them install new foam and cover for my KTM... cant wait to ride with that... it feels awesome and looks great!!

    Highly recommend Seat Concepts!!!:clap
