I'd also like to hear whats the widest you can put on the front.

And what are the pros & cons of using non standard size tyres

running sv650 rims on my motard, Bridgestone Battleaxe BT014
Front 120\70\17 Rear 160\60\17, even with the standard rims you should be able to get a 150 on the back, dunno about a 21 inch front though...

Procycle seems to be the cheapest that I can find. It includes the heat shield in the price.

I'd definitely be getting it tuned on the dyno mate.. get the jetting just right.. you may as well make use of the extra cc's..

48hp is a bit disappointing I would be hoping for over 50hp. I have a programmable cdi for the dr that i would love to stick on a tuned dr725 just to see what we can get out of the pig.
Maybe your next move is to put the head of a xf650,ccm644 or sachs roadster on it. I think they have bigger valves as well as twin carbs.

What are the torque figures like on procycles example.

I read elsewhere DRs suffer in HP from tiny inlet and exhaust valves(same valves as th dr200) but motor has good torque

if im not mistaken which i prob am, the torque comes because the valves are smaller which raises the velocity that the fuel/air mixture enters the engine.

:rofl DRs were never ment to make big HP .there a great workhorse motor. The 725kit does exactly what i wanted it to do keeping the same lazy delivery of power but with heaps more grunt all through the range when you open it up.dont really care about any number on a dyno:D

    Hi all
I picked up my new DR a few days ago and I am thinking of a change. I am considering changing the back sprocket to a 43 from the standard 41 as it appears the gearing is too high for my needs. Anyone else made this change? and if so are you happy with the change and is their anything else I should be aware of. Also how much did it reduce the top cruising speed on the open road.

The majority of my riding will 50/50 between dirt tracks and road (mainly hills) so I want the low down power.

Here is a picture of the new girl
