Dualsport Fairing w PnP LED Lighting

With a pair of the m15 led's, is a relay necessary? How bright would these be for occasional street use? And is the rotary dimmer weatherproof? Thanks.

I finally got around to submitting pics of the fairing and lights on my DR650. All I can say is wow,it's like I strapped the sun to the front of my bike. I purchased the fairing and two model 60 flood lamps with one strap kit for fork mounting since I do not have the stock forks on my bike. I intend on using this bike for travelling and one thing that has always bothered me on all of my bikes has been poor lighting when I've been away from home and this thing definitely rocks in that department. So far the wind protection has definitely been adequate. I didn't want a huge windshield strapped to my bike so this is definitely a great compromise.

One of the things I wasn't clear on when purchasing was how the dimmer was adjustable. They provide a remote that allows you to change the brightness of the low beam to your liking by hitting a couple of buttons. You can also turn it fully off which helped me out of a jam when my battery went low the other day.

So far no one has flashed me so I must have it adjusted fairly well.

Has anyone fashioned any kind of ABS or aluminum dash to work with these yet?

Seems like it would be the perfect place for mounting switches or GPS type items.

This a CRF250L with a gauge mount. We could extend the mount to the sides which would provide a bit of room for other stuff.

I'd love to get one of these on my plated Honda CRF 450X, has anyone installed it on one yet? It also has a Baja Designs kit on it, so I'd have to be able to get all of the "stuff" from it into the fairing. To your knowledge has this been done?

It seems like this would be a great market for these amazing fairings.

I have a question about the electric.. stuff. It's my understanding that halogen lights run off AC power provided directly by the stator, and LED lights run off DC power from the battery. In your instructions, you say to wire the lights to the battery confirming that.

Multiple times throughout this post, you reference the "power difference" IE "stock headlights are 55W, and 2 model 60s are 60W so you're only using 5 more watts." But does it work like that? The AC power that used to be powering the headlights isn't now being used to charge the battery, so you're really just adding 60 more watts of DC usage, correct? Please tell me I'm wrong. I'd love to be wrong!

Not that I am aware of. The main mounting brackets provide a nice place to mount things though.


DRZ400 key switch

If you have a headlight that uses 55w and replace it with our Dual Sport fairing that uses 56w on full power and only 5w on low beam then the net effect is you are using far fewer watts. Another consideration is that you typically are using high beam wihen moving, ie higher rpms which means more watts from your stator.

The battery is simply a storage device, the stator and load (ignition, lights, accesories) determine how much of the battery is used.

Anybody else have pics of this on an XRL? How does it work for you?

Damn that bikes looks familiar! Oh thats right it was mine. I loved the fairing and it worked wonderful! If I ever buy another 650L it would be one of my first mods!

Yea , I gave it a makeover before sending it to my brothers stable .

Not a Hijack Sanjoh , just a pic or 2 for referencing the Fairing .

Ordered a fairing and two 3600 lumen lights. Got the items two days later. Awesome service.

Just got the fairing on today and buzzed up the switchbacks from Banning to Idyllwild. One 3600 lumen light is PLENTY of light on the twisties, and two lights is just unreal. Need to steepen the angle on the fairing, but at 55mph it's a huge improvement.

Did you ever get one done for the WR250R? Any pics?

When your flipping from high to low is that a single model 60 going from high to low or on low 1 and on high both at full power

If his is like mine, there's a single on a dimmer for low (I've set mine as low as the dimmer goes).

When you hit the high beam, both lights go full power.
