The next morning the moto would not run. Three days and it would not run, so it was hauled 120 miles to Guatemala City to the BMW Motorcycle Dealership.

BTW, I waited over two weeks in south Mexico for my friend Hector from Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico. Ultimately he was not able to get away due to to a serious illness in the family of one of his key employees. That is OK, we will re-schedule it in the future. :deal

The moto spent nine days in the Guatemala Stealership. It ended with them having me sign a form that said they could not find the problem and that I was taking it under my own responsibility. It was not a pleasant experience you can read about it here:

The moto ran the entire time it was at the dealership. They thought it was a bad wire somewhere. I decided to ride in a northerly direction for a few days to see how it acted. Maybe they fixed something they didn't know they fixed. So I headed to Antigua.

Antigua is a 500 year old city and is a major tourist attraction. I don't normally spend time in tourist areas, but this one does seem a bit different for some reason.

It was not a comfortable ride with steel wheels on the Cobble stone streets!

You should have bought one of those shirts. No one else in Greenville will have one.

Hi Donnie. THese bikes are great until you have problems. NOt cheap to work on. I have been on beemers since 72, and the newer ones are good but when you have problems you need to have money to fix. I rebuild 2 final drives for 200 a piece. Dealer wanted 1400 to rebuild and no guarantee. I can buy a new final drive for fifteen hundred with guarantee. I love beemers. I want a 650 with shaft final drive. saludos Farrell
