Watching the race as I'm posting. Josh Hill's heat race win was inspiring. They said he was the winner of that race in '08. Was it a win in the main? Was he a privateer at the time? I can't recall him ever having a factory ride or winning a race.
Anybody else think Poto was a little extra aggressive with Dungey for no reason when Dungey was racing him clean..Poto's moves looked a little amateurish to me. Dungey had a chance to stuff him the same but never did. Either way Dungey got the win
That was awesome! I thought Villopoto was getting close to putting in some cheap shots but was clean in the end. Good race, Wow.
Finally a GREAT race for the WIN!Seems people are always talking about how so and so had a great race for 5th or how such and such came from 10th /last to 5th!I want to see racing for the WIN.Thats the only reason I've been going to the races for 45+ years.I wish Dungey would stop looking back when hes leading.Other than that is was awesome.
Villopoto sure did himself no favors in the podium interview. Some mumbling about how the track didn't allow him any advantages, then further mumbling about how he had to "let Dungey by" when he could have simply tipped his hat and said that Dungey was faster on this day. He often comes across as petulant. - Mark
"CBS"didnt score any points with me today.Half an hour of racing, the other half commericals.Gotta give the sponsors what they pay for,but us the audiance is what puts this on tv.Anyway, what a great race, the poor coverage did no justice to the battle for the win.48,000 standing fans screaming for Dungey to make the move.A wave of pumping fists and flailing arms in the crowd as Dungey circled the trackComplete pandamonium as he leaped the finish lineA great night for Red Bull KTM and the SX fans of the upper MW. Congrats to Dungey,MOOSEcan and KTM-Man there was alot of orange on the track and in the crowd. Unfortunate, 250 rookie Jeremy Martin(77Yami) couldnt heal up to cash in on the love from the fans and race on his home turf.I think we will see alot of him in the future IF he can stay healthy.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought they covered both heat races and the main from start to finish. What more do you want? The ratio of race coverage to "filler" (commercials and fluff) is much higher with CBS's one-hour, one-class condensed format than with the Speed's 4-hour two-class format. And I think with some time to edit, CBS does a much better job of catching the important passing on track. One can certainly complain about live coverage vs. delayed, and perhaps the loss of the LCQ's matters to some (not me), but to my mind, watching one-hour of CBS is a lot more efficient and interesting than wading through four-hours of Speed. - Mark
That is my impression. If Dungey has found a way to beat RV, these last races are going to be hella exciting.
I don't know what people expect from race coverage. They showed both heats, the main, replays of significant happenings, podium interviews, and all with decent, knowledgeable commentary. Sounds like a full hour to me. Come on, you have to have commercials. Next week, Speed will have full coverage of both 250s and 450s. That will give people three hours of coverage to complain about instead of just one.
