not too bad but I had to get in in order to race baja and score dakar series.
Not sure if I will race but leaving the door open, gonna see what the cost is gonna be and decide fromthere, im guessing about 20K to get a bike up and ready and entry fee, then add in parts, fuel travel etc... So not sure if I will or not at this time, might try to raise sponsors or funding.

On that Google maps link i can see signs on each entrance, all i can make out is "Warning!"... Has anyone read these signs and can share what they are ?

I don't wanna get out there one day and find thats its a no trespassing sign or something :/

Sorry, I am using the 100 posts per page view and just realized this is about 30 posts back :/

Anyway, this link provides a trail out by Blenheim, and when you look at the start of the trail on streets view there is a white sign, and all i can make out is 'Warning!'

I was wondering if anyone know what the rest of the sign says, Like "Warning! Private property, trespassers will be shot on sight" or something lol Just trying to be cautious haha

I usually abide by if the rule if the sign doesn't say, "No Trespassing and we mean you Smoothdurban!!" then I am golden.

We rode out from here in October without issue.

Where would you be riding from?

    I am located in Chatham.
I don't have a conventional adventure bike, or enduro like i would like, but rather an old yamaha xs400 (it was the coolest thing i could get with my budget in this area lol) ...

So this seems like a place that is 'offroad' but not the same as a trail would be. From what i can see its just a standard gravel/dirt road. Which i think would be add variety.

Nok, Didn't reply as well as I'm in Florida. I'd like to get together but the commute is just too much.

No, the bike is back north hibernating for the winter. Riding in the sand and orange groves just doesn't do it for me. Too many pirates prowling the seas.

Would any of you FF's like to meet up sometime this week in Chatham?
I am home at my parent's house for a few more days before fleeing South to Florida to escape winter.

    Cheers,

This may have been discussed earlier in this thread, but i'm not gonna read through 100 pages so I am gonna just ask (maybe its new and exciting!?)

I had some free time on my hands and with the awful weather i started scrolling around Southern Ontario looking for interesting places to ride this season and i noticed (what appears to be) and abandoned rail line that looks like it starts down in Windsor and travels up to the past Tillsonburg (i stopped following past that point).

On google maps you can clearly see a trail, and when you view it from streets view at the intersections it crosses you can see that its gravel, and the tracks were removed (from Tillsonburg all the way down to Charing Cross Road in Chatham where it merges with another line that may or my not be abandoned).

It looks like this route is gravel and dirt, has some really nice clear spots and some mild vegetation areas as well.

Not entirely sure how post a photo, but to locate the line go into google maps and search for "Brownsville" (Ontario) and you will clearly see the route between Brownsville Rd, and Presley Line - its the thing that looks like a road but has no streets view option, so drop your view point where it intersects hwy 10 and you'll see the gravel. You can follow that north or south down to windsor and the entire way its a gravel trail..

Has anyone rode this before? (how is it?) or is this a 'at your own risk of a ticket' situation i should avoid?

EDIT- after giving it a closer look i think this connects to the same trail mentioned earlier off Kent Bridge road in Blenheim area..

I have traversed the section from Amherstberg to Essex and it is nothing to write home about. Last fall Myself and a few other guys from this forum rode from just west of St Thomas to Blenheim. This was well worth it and a great 60+ km worth of riding.

They have pretty much finished ripping up the rail lines here in Windsor thru Tilbury but its still has a loose rock bed base which is hard to ride a 300+ lb dual sport on.

Hopefully they will scrape up the rock next year and give us a month or two of access before they plaster a bunch on no trespassing signs at every access point.

Yeah i gotta pick me up one of those dual sports lol

On further inspection the signs seems rather random... Looking at intersection views you can see no signs and then down a 10km at the next intersection they have signs and 10km down the line there they have none again... So it seems like its easy to get in without signs lol

I doubt anyone would catch a biker in there though, its all farm lands and if they see you come out you can just say the entrance had no signs and you're sorry.. that would probably work eh? lol
