Technically not on highway 30, not yet, That would still be 1/2 mile north of this shot .

Technically true, but I use the phrase "on highway 30" to describe all those towns from Fremont to Ogallala.

Thanks, it is indeed around Williston, about 12 miles north of town.

As for the no rigs or semis, its pretty easy, just stay on the minimum maintenance roads, and on land that already has wells. There are at least 2 wells in that pic. Unlike what the news media may lead people to believe, it isn't total choas. I still feel safer on the roads here than I did in traffic on 635 in Dallas. :D

Here is another taken north of Watford City on the south side of the lake from much earlier this year.

Most of these were taken by my buddy, Devon (the guy on the GS1150). I took the ones of him using his camera and settings, he took the rest of me on the Ninja/V-Strom, and of the Vulcan 800.

This thread gave me extreme Albertan wanderlust. Boring as those roads could be, I really did love riding out there.

This is another wonderful picture that captures the raw beauty of the plains. If one looks closely at the sky, one can see the majestic hues of light purple mixed with the tones of grey. People can have their cities. This is where one can truely become aware of the power of God!

I was struck the same way, and I almost never hunt (only been a few times, several years ago). I was thinking Quail...
