I am working hard on getting the swag (t shirts, work shirts, patches and stickers) finished all the while nagging Bill to update his blog. In the meantime I have added a link to our donations page that will allow you to donate without being on Facebook! You can click HERE to see what I mean. Thanks everyone for being patient :)
subscribed! Wish you the best. Please wear extraordinary looking cloth, so it's easier to spot you on the telly best wishes Martina
Ok, been extremely busy. The bikes are in, parts starting to be delivered and a broken bone to contend with. Check out the pictures and details on the blog www.bc2dakar.com No Speedbrain parts for the Husky, pretty much will have to fabricate parts or make parts designed for other bikes fit. I wish I had more time... Thanks to all who contributed to the Auction and have made donations. Everyones generosity is greatly appreciated. The stickers turned out really cool, still waiting on a few more item designs to be finished. Store should be open soon! Bill
Bill you couldnt find the kit or at least rear tank Neil Hodgman used in this years Australasian Safari? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Husqvarna-Rally-Australia/234548879926678?sk=wall not sure if the rear tanks are safari tanks
The above is not the same bike, mine is the new 449/511, that is a 450/510. Nothing is interchangeable. I wish I could have found a bolt on kit. Unfortunately there isn't currently anything available. I am using a few bits from the BMW G450X but they all need to be modified to mount to the Husky 449.
Bill, have you checked these guys out? http://youtu.be/L-BHrHl5Hns some pics: this was briefly discussed over at the Cafe Husky forums a while back (when I was still debating on going for the new 511) http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/su...-monster-energy-speedbrain.17682/#post-158353 IIRC the above were developed by a Chilean team (Bimota - Husqvarna), no contact details though, except for a small interview in spanish with their rider Manuel Jamett: http://www.smotos.cl/noticias.nsi?nid=8138
Bill, Bianchi Prata in Portugal run the 449's too, they have used a large 'plastic' front tank (looks like a Safari Tank) and custom rear tank; http://www.bianchiprata.com/primeirapagina.php I have bought stuff from them in the past, they are eager to assist
I contacted Safari after seeing that and they confirmed some people were using their 450X tanks on TEs but that they were modifying them to fit themselves. Safari are still developing one for the TE.
