That water isn't very warm and that's all I got to say about that!

This was next.















There were some patches of dark clouds forming but I braved the climb away from the lake anyway...















It cleared up some as I rode inland...and it got a little bit twisty too.

Looked to have been a pretty big burn through here in recent years.

Cook County Road 12, also known as the Gunflint Trail, is a 57-mile paved roadway that begins in Grand Marais, Minnesota and ends at Saganaga Lake in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, near the US border with Ontario, Canada.

Just and out-n-back for me.















But I did stop at several resorts and campgrounds contemplating a nights stay....















That included a few more out-n-backs on gravel side roads....

The clouds were getting skeery again though

Now the municipal campground in Grand Marais may not have been the most idyllic place to pitch my tent.

.....but.....















This was the view my bike had in that previous pic!















....not only that, I got the tent up before it rained and the annual 'fisherman's picnic' event was going on just a short walk away around the harbor!

It had gotten to be a bit chilly and breezy along with that threat of a shower so I stowed my camera, donned my rain jacket and armed only with a cell phone camera walked into town for a bite to eat.

A lot of vendors were closing up for the night but these kids were still determined to learn how to roll a log!















Sun and showers combined....and I could only wish that the 'real' camera was in my pocket.

That double rainbow was pretty impressive and it last quite a while so I walked around and tried to get it from different angles...even though all I had was an old scratched up phone to shoot with.

As you can see it cleared out nicely!















The food vendors stayed open so I could eat a fish burger that would hurt my tummy tomorrow....and the band was able to play.




I forget the name but they were pretty good young guys playing a classical bluegrass sound but with modern lyrics...no twangy vocals.
