Hey Hodgo, diverdown here from BC Canada just got back from a 1800 km trip to Bella Coola, on the hack. a place on the north coast, have not heard from you in awhile, whats up, fall inlove in montanna?

His time spent in MT is so great he cant be bothered to provide any updates or such about what he has been up to and where he has gone.

Basically leaving the rest of us arm chair adventurers sitting on our thumbs having to go elsewhere to get our fix on good pictures and stories of other people travels.

mate, yeah Montana sure is a nice place.

All good though just been flat out getting my fix of experiences.

So you my friend may have a shit and roll in it.

More updates are on their way, but im at the knuckle saloon so they may go to shit pretty quick.

No matter how many mods they have done, how custom they are, they all look the same to me though.

But the big Kato certainly turns a few heads in Sturgis though, it's like a cat amongst pigeons.

LOL on Sturgis. I showed up on a very dirty KLR in '92 I think it was. Really got noticed.

Well I have been quietly having the time of my life here in Montana, the scenery & places are like no other.

Lots n lots of these.

My camp spot that i found on the free campsite mapweb thingy.

Mainly farming in Montana , but Wyoming is a lot like Oz with less people.

Having a crack at Doubles again but the water was pretty cold by my standards.

I made it up though.

The thin line or gap between the trees is the Canadian border.
Lots of fir trees & lots of Deer, they are thick like fleas on a dogs back.

The places to see here are just completley different to oz, but some are very similar.






I just love the old cart in that was on he front lawn here.

So i did a what the locals here call a "Ride Along"

Well my my what an experience. The first night was with Kurtis who was a very professional bloke at his job. It certainly put to bed all the crap you see on the idiot box about american coppers.
These blokes have tough job here with just about every bloke carry a piece.
Went to a domestic here a young fella decided it would be a good idea to kick down the front door of his girlfirends house when she wouldnt let him in.
Of course he had a shotgun with him, which his girlfriend promptly covered in bbq sauce. This just pissed him off even more so he got his rifle out of his car & thats when we rolled up. Sure was interesting.

The next night i got to go out with the sherriff & got to witness a dui in progress from start to finish.

The thing that i found funny about the whole process is that the OIC needs to go to massive lengths in an effort to prove them guilty. This is before they even blow in a machine. Absolutely crazy. They even advertise here that drink driving is dangerous, as if you need to advertise that on billboards.

Kris asks me have you been to a "Yard Sale" here in the US ?
Me "Nope" is that like a garage sale ? Yep.

So we go out of town a bit as Kris reckons it will be an experience for me as he's selling guns n ammo as well.

Mmmm i thought maybe a shotty or two or even a hunting rifle,

Nope a friggin 50Cal Barrett Sniper outfit for 20k, but he would take 17 cash.

Not only did he have the Barra he had a fair collection of pistols and other assorted bits.


Man this is just crazy having these out in full view at a bloody garage sale.


Now i have fired one of these suckers when i was in the army, but the military version, they do pack a punch.


I can see the gun laws changing here in the US but i can also see why they shouldn't, a very touchy subject indeed.
So I went out horse riding with Frank, I jump in his (Pickup) Ute and bugger me their is a 45 Ruger sitting on the seat that i had to move out of the way first.
I ask Frank whats that for & he say for Bears if we see some.

Maybe its my military training but having a 12 yr old kid cock an AR15 in the same isle I'm in at a camping store sought of makes me nervous.



Other experiences included a local Baseball game, not that exciting but the same as watching one tennis player.

Most of my time has been spent helping Kris's sons rebuild his Baja bug engine,


It's a bit of a basket case though.


Been lapping valves.

The suspension is a bit better than stock.

This little bitch woke me up yesterday at my camp site.

Came across this little piece at Kalispell. I asked the bloke why ???

His response was cause my sons said it couldn't be done.


So Sturgis what a place ? I have never seen so many HD's in the one spot, they all look the same to me, but I found a life long friend of DSM8's though.

Or was it Seano's mate.

glad to see you're having fun. of course riding that beast is half of all the fun.

So im done with the Sturgis rally , noisey HD's, look at me look at me people, But it had to be done.

It certainly was a bloody eye opener, Wouldnt bother with it again but it is something that im glad i added to my list of experiences.

I just dont get why someones needs a 427cu bike.

The custom HDs are ok but they all look the same to me.

I went to the Biffalo chip to see the Toby Keith concert & was quite impressed. No Biffos though, All very well behaved crowd. I was able to sit on my bike and watch the whole shebang.

Patrons cleared away when i partook in the compulsory engine revving as the SE shoots large yellow flames from the akros at full noise.



Not so sure how these would handle with such a big front wheel.

I camped a couple of streets back with some great people from New York & New Jersey.
Overlooking Sturgis.

Lot and lots of vendors pushing their wears & spruking why theirs is better.

Stopped in at the Saddlemen stand & mentioned that my seat was still a tad too hard after the run in period.

They said bring it round & we will fix it for you. The cut some pieces and added some foam & glue & stuff, now its much betterer.

The offered me free beer & a steak meal for helping them out,so i followed them on to Bellview.
