No the pictures aren't the hardest on this trip. More hardest places we have been too. Once I had to sit on the front of the tank, i was trying to climb up to hill and drive over the rocks. you can't imagine the pain on my arms but i love it. And i am dying to go back there...

As you see the area, it is covered by rocky mountains. I think Tasyol is the best shortcut there. Because there is no road around.

Kktos, I add a road map below.

You were very lucky, a teenager in Kemer :evil

    ------------------

Exactly, it is a shortcut as Agirabi also says...

    It is a strange geography.

As an information, Turkey is a west oriented country. The young generation living on the west side, the trade generally situated on the west side. The people who live in this area, want to have contact with the west. But the rocky mountains cut the way to the west(Divrigi) which is only 20 kilometers faraway from here-in the reality there was no road before-.

The second problem is the hard winters. The winter is very hard and long. The high passages on the mountain, closed because of the snow at the 3/4 of the year. The only way to go to the west from Kemaliye, is to go first to the south to Malatya (from a very sharp road on the coast of Firat) and then to northwest which takes nearly 15-16 hours(may be more) to Ankara(Capital City).

Let's see the map, the road on the top of Kemaliye is Tasyol:

The people who live around this area, had this dream nearly for 130 years. They dig it slowly. Now it is very easy to reach directly to Sivas. Even on the winter time the road is preserving them from the snow. Then the road is very easy and fast to Ankara. As you know between Ankara and Istanbul there is the highway.

    ------------------

    Thanks.

    ------------------

A picture from inside of our house, Kemaliye houses are very well-known in the meaning of wooden architecture. Also they are well preserved.

    thanx !
I'm now virtually flying over the place, thanx to Google.

    indeed !
I learnt how to play with a lazer boat. I saw dolphins. I ate the most delicious yogourt I ever saw... but with one drawback....if u see what I'm referring to.
There are place on earth you went once and you know that you'll be back one day ass your heart is hooked on it.

This is a perfect subject for a real adventure movie, don't you think ?
