Scenic City Rides (Chattanooga)

Hawk and I were talking about you and Janet last night. Hope she's doing well Apparently I am attending the March Moto Madness Can't wait to see you!

I'm riding this Saturday. At the Lookout Valley Exit Cracker Barrel eating Breakfast at 8am
Leaving at 9am, from the parking lot.

Bring a lunch/snack
Game plan is to ride to Franklin State Park and cruise around there. Big bikes welcome, since we'll hit some good twisty roads on the way.
Also will go down Sewanee Mtn by way of the old railroad bed, which there is one kinda nasty spot, but shouldn't be too difficult.

Goal is to get out early b/c the ever correct weatherman is calling for showers after 1pm, cover some good territory and head back and be back in the Chattanooga area around 2 or 3pm.

And of course, everything could change life happens.

Spoken like a man who was at the party. I tried to talk a fella into riding pillion with me this Saturday, but he's gotta work. Why are good men so hard to find?

I'll be there Saturday, Squirrelly.

Aight! Well the DOG's where over in Lafayette/Chattooga County area, almost showed up to their ride, but Timbo showed up at the Crack House just in time!

We zipped thru Ladd's Mtn and road up 156 and finally made it to Franklin State Forest.

Lovely small creek, Brent's KLR is pointed in the direction we are going. The side of the KLR has a very lovely uphill challenge, when one is on a hefty lil piglet of a 1200~!

But alas, this awesome lil trail was not meant to be ridden that day;

I get nervous leading a ride, so I forced Brent into getting us to the trail head of the RR.

Tim did very well on this part and it was sooo much fun!


























Great day for riding! 70+ degrees weather! Awesome! We all got back to Lookout Valley and all three of us were sooooo tired! I slept very well. Awesome day!

Looks like you had a good ride also!

Def need to get up that way and ride that RR bed!

Hey all, I posted up here a few months ago about our possible relocation to your area. Looks like as time goes on, it's becoming more likely. Thank's for all the info, email, and PMs. It sure is making it hard to stay here after reading the riding adventures.

We will be in town starting tomorrow, and plan to visit this fabled brewhaus (probably more than once). We'd sure like to meet up with you all and have a few beers and tell outrageous lies.

I had a class cancel tomorrow night, so I can meet up, preferably after 6:30.

Cool! We get into town about 1pm, airlines permitting, and are staying at a place in North Shore near the Walnut St. Bridge. I shot Brent a PM too. We want to hear about this "railroad bed" that looks like a creek. The wife saw the pics and said "I am SO riding that one day!!"

I'd like for that to be the plan. As I'm at the antique store today, so it would be easy for me to get there around 6:30.
I'm pretty positive Brent is showing up as well. I'll give a shout out to Bert and see what he's up to.

Um, have you seen the forecast? insert snomoticon When those areas of green turn blue or pink on the radar, that means mayhem on the roads. Hamilton County already let the kids out early from school. I'll probably be at the gym, if I go out at all this PM. Y'all be careful out there tonight.

Anybody want to ride Saturday or Sunday??? The weather's gonna finally clear up.

I'm gonna pound pavement in N. Ga Saturday, but was thinking maybe an off-road ride Sunday. I may be carrying a pillion Sunday, so my pace will be slower. Leave morning-time, back home by 5-ish.

We were thinking of doing Totto sushi tonite and maybe brewhaus followwing.

I need to change my tires on my DR650 - with Monty and his fancy tire tool. But I can ride something like cohutta, cherokee or Franklin on my ktm...
