with stock 650R pegs, the peg usually breaks off without snapping the tabs on the peg mount.

i think i'll start looking at some options too...got some ideas. been riding my 19" front beast. really like it. fun bikes.

I'm thinking 1/4" T6 Al with some mounts from a dirt bike that will thru bolt.

Use 2 of the 3 holes for the stock pegs, eliminate passenger pegs.

are you going to CAD/CNC the plates?

i cut the passenger pegs off the peg mounts. the rear half of the stock peg mount can snap off and end up in the wheel. i have some experience there....

when you order a new cover and gasket, get the two small alignment dowels also. sometimes you can wiggle them loose and reuse them, but sometimes not.

Bought used one from ebay for <$20. I'm going to add some al or ss plates to the side cases. The side case is structurally sound but susceptible to punctures.

We were able to get the side cover off for repair without damaging the gasket.

The shock is off a cbr 600, pressed the bushing/bearing out of the ninja shock and shaved a bit off the trunnion to make it fit.

i put some dirt handle bars on but still wasn't close to good for any kind of standing position. do you guys stand at all? i would need about 8-inch higher bars or 4 inch lower pegs

off topic but i guess the speedo runs of tranny sensors? where is the bike's odometer data stored? a brain or in the clocks? my clocks are dead

Yes on standing, 2" rox risers are no problem with stock cables stock KTM Magura bars, MFW lowered footpegs.

The stock speedo runs off a pickup on the counter sprocket shaft. Running the stock gearing (15/46) an 18" rear with knobs it is +-1mph per GPS.

Not sure on ODO storage, I'd say it's in the gauge pod.

What plans do you have for your new beastly?

i got it to follow your recipe, i already have most of the ktm stuff off my other bikes. I need to get it salvage inspected first so i think i'll do a bare minimum and go piece by piece. i need to ride it around to see if i like the motor etc.

i see the other mutants trying to go with 19 inch fronts and i'm just wondering what the ideal wheel setup is. 18/21, 18/19, 19/19?

the bulbous fuel tank bothers me, maybe i can grind it down...
