I was up at Cold Springs Tavern last night, and talked to some riders that had just come off of West Camino Cielo Road.

They said the road was open,, but it can be closed if bad weather is forecast. Sure enough:
    Winter Road & Trail Closures
    - Certain roads in Los Padres National Forest are subject to weather-related closures. Most of the roads are closed just prior to predicted storms and are reopened once the road surface dries out.

I thought after the fires in the area this road was closed for a year, but I guess not!

If your not familiar with this road, it goes from Refugion Beach up and over to the top of the mountains above Santa Barbara. Spectacular riding and views...

It has been 2 long months since any of us rode SCD. Snow and ice pretty much shut it down.

Meantime, several pages back, we talked about doing a clean up and adopt a trail. SCD is one of them. So with short notice, we decided to do a recon of the area.

It seems riders with blue bikes are more civic oriented than the oranges, greens and reds.

The ride up is always fun. Little T is the sweet icing on a good cake
    [IMG]

Even at 9am...the twisty road was still deserted

shit, the door is here too :cry
    [IMG]

Here's a good one for those who wonder if there's still snow up there...:lol3

The official garbage spotter was surgically precise in locating more trash.

As we ride deeper into SCD, the size of the garbage get smaller :eek1

from scd we rode down on indian canyon. looks good for a few miles then become rutted due to the snow and rain. best of all no dust, or maybe we're not spinning our rears fast enough...:lol3
    [IMG]

    very little trash here....

this section of indian canyon used to be a dump..fridge, washing machine, mattress, sofa, kitchen sink, etc.

made it to the bottom without a broken clutch lever this time
    [IMG]

then next thing i know artboy and cathy were playing little moto-x...:rofl
