This is a great idea! I've got several things I'd gladly ship out if needed: Twin Max Mighty Vac 1150 GS Manual 1100S Manual I've also got a shop in the middle of West Texas for repairs. I am located in Colorado City, Texas. I can throw a rock and hit I-20. I've got most hand tools and the space for almost any repair.
Howdy Just noticed this thread and what a great idea. I'm about to throw some TKC's on a F650 that I picked up and am looking for someone with one of those nifty H/F tire changers in their garage in the Central Coast California area. Glag to bring beer of choice or $ for usage. Scumbag
I am looking for the use of a sheetmetal break. looking to break a small 14 gage piece of steel. Anybody got one??? Jake
Scumbag, Shoot billybee a PM (see first page) he's got a tire changer and is in the process of moving up to the central coast. I just changed the rear tire on my f650 today neduro style
EricFoerster, Sorry I missed your posting before, you are now on the list as well, thanks!!!! Just one question, is that an 1100S or an 1100GS manual?
My doohickey wrench is still available... I seen a lot of new KLR owners in the thumpers forum lately...
Subcanis, Is that doo-too still in the "privately owned" category? In other words, would you need it sent back to you in between each use or are you okay with it being passed around without coming back to you each time?
I have a tire changer and balancer in the metro New Orleans, LA area. You supply a couple of brews and we change yo' tires and save you some serious moola! win-win. contact me via. P.M. for the details.
<!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->I just picked up a Twin Max TB / Carb syncronizer. If any ADV riders in the area wish to use it just drop me a line. I'd be happy to lend it to you. I also have a BMW (Hazet) oil filter wrench for the 1150GS (fits other BMW bikes too, not 12GS however.) No shipping, just local guys please. I am in Newburyport, MA, work in Amesbury, right on the NH border, no garage, so all I ask is to just come meet me and take the stuff for the weekend and return it in a timely matter. I do take 6-packs of microbrew beer as donations.
I'm looking to borrow the tools to do a KLR650 Doohickey. Failing their ability, I'll buy 'em, and put them in the pool. Anyone got a set I can borrow? Also, I have a KLR shop manual, yours for the asking- no matter where you live. 98-03 model, but honestly, did it really change that much? :) Also (for onsite use only) a pretty good assortment of hand tools, MIG and ARC welders and basic welding skills- Charleston SC
I have updated the list of "on-site use only" items on page 1. Since the list is getting kinda long now (that's a good thing) I will probably start to organize those items by location soon, to make it easier for folks to find out what tools are available in their specific area... might even do a google map if I get inspired.
I should probably add "advanced electrical knowledge, digital multimeter, Ninja 650R shop manual" to mine.. sorry, didn't occur to me. Also feel free to activate my "contact" link, and if all else fails, I wouldn't be averse to putting my cell number out there either....
If anyone needs assistance in the Chattanooga, Tn area I would be more than happy to help. Me and Dave have everything from a Lincoln 215 Pro Mig to most tools needed to get you back on your way. If we don't have it we can usually find it close by... Marty
I'm about 20 miles southwest of Chicago. I've got a Harbor Freight tire changer, a tire balancer (never used yet), a motorcycle lift, and a pretty good supply of most hand tools. Also a Fluke meter and a mig welder. I have a couple of homemade specialty tools: a tool for holding the damper rod while disassembling the forks, for a KLR , and one for a Yamaha XT350 (they may fit other bikes too). You can put me in the "On Site Use" group
thanks, guys! I have updated post #2 with the latest info, but haven't had time to organize the list by region just yet. keep 'em coming!
Southeast PA, near the MD and DE border I've got garage space, advanced hand/air tools, all welding/cutting processes, some light fabricating equipment, lift, Twinmax, basic parts (fuel hose, o-rings, electrical, etc) and truck/trailer for breakdown assistance. Available on-site according to my work schedule. PM me if interested. Chris Edit: 08/05/2007 Added a No-Mar tire changing setup to the shop. Available on site with some notice.
