Their facebook page has been....quiet. I would have imagined it would have been released during this years pre Dakar season ?
It was supposed to be released earlier this year but it didn't happen as far as I know. Strange that it mentions the 2010 and 2011 Dakars considering CBV wasn't at this years Daker (as far as I know, he definitely wasn't competing). I have been tempted to send CBVRacing a PM to find out what is happening with it, but I feel strange PMing people I don't know...
CBV is very approachable - no problems sending him a PM. I was chatting to him just a little while ago, seems like a very nice guy. Id be very interested to see where this is going or when its released.
I have been eagerly awaiting news of this films release. The longer the delay, the more it becomes ''óld stuff''. I would still purchase a copy because it is still the Dakar and from a privateers viewpoint.
Heres a copy of a PM I received from CBV in April this year. Ive sent him a link to this thread: Thanks very much Pete, will do. We are trying to have it done by mid 2011 so that i can share it with Brasilian schools and kids during the Sertoes Rally as part of my charity work with www.dreamsdocometrue.org.au Hopefully he'll be along here shortly and let us know when its out. Bet its better than charlies sponsor/winge fest.....
Thanks for starting that thread Will_Higman, much appreaciated. The movie is being produced now, the music is being composed and barring any major issues all should be finished in April/May this year. It has been a long and harduous task to get all the licensing and paperwork sorted. But as the title says "when you're chasing a dream, you can't ever stop believing" Then it will go to Festivals and based on the outcome might find its way into Cinemas. Post cinemas will be TV & DVD. I will post updates on the facebook page. On my way now to the studio to keep going through 25 years old archive racing footage from Africa. Cheers, Christophe p.s. As Pete says, feel free to PM me, even if we don't know each other, we still are a family. p.s.#2. Pete, keep that headlamp handy, it might be worth something in 20 years
We have our first buyer!!! thanks :) The movie is timeless, the story is timeless, it is not about Dakar "2010", but something a lot deeper than that... you'll see
I look forward to it. Hope it makes it to my local cinema where I can get a beer and watch a Dakar movie.
Hey any one knows what state is the CBV dakar movie? Cant find any info on it at the moment. Dakar Dreams i think is its name.
