You are right on both accounts.

Look at the new Alpine Stars chest protectors, there neckbrace compatible, flow alot of air and offer the most protection IMHO.

I have one. I bought it at the end of 2011 and have never ridden without it since. I don't find it too constricting. Yes, it can get hot on really hot days. In cooler weather I wear an under armor shirt under it. Hotter days I wear it right on my skin. Sure, riding without it would be cooler and more comfortable but I'm confident the jacket has saved me a lot of pain and injury (I fall a lot).

I run it through the washing machine after nearly every ride. So far it is still holding up remarkably well.

    I have them! :lol3

When you spend 15k on a new ktm pen they give you a free motorcycle! Now that's good business :lol3

And they are workshop shoes with reinforced sole in the kick start area of the sole!!!!!

I have the umbrella, the hats, the helmet, the boots, the back pack, the tent, the chair, KTM bikini for wife, ktm branded tools, numerous shirts, pants, riding pants, shorts, a bunch of the awesome briefcases, the fanny pack, that might be all, but I'm just getting started again.

You can still sign up on race day. Plenty of minutes still open. But yes you would still need lights. Just "borrow" a plate off another bike in the garage. :evil

My lights aren't wired though. I could easily turn the KTM into a Road King Custom for a day I suppose. :)
