Just a thought, maybe I´m wrong, but where does the heat goes now? Perhaps it is not a good idea to prevent the exhaust tube to give away its heat.

But it´s probably more important that you feel good on the bike in summer.

Well thought out bike . . . a 150 H.P. bike puts out alot of heat!

This is how they test ride KTM's after Dealer set-up . . . Really should wear some protective gear:

Reminds me of: "Hold my beer and watch this"

Woud it be possible to make a heat shield/deflector that mounts to the top 2 rear exhaust studs . . . That would keep some heat off your right under thigh?

I will ride some more, than I will decide what to do. It's a little bit better now, but still too much for my legs. I have ordered the Akrapovic, but honestly considering should I spend more on the bike or not. How better it will be, but Igorpetrovich has Akrapovic and he says that the heat is not much on his bike. Since I am the only one yelling about this problem, I am thinling that maybe the problem on my legs, make me feel the heat more than everybody.

Every once in a great while i will wear jeans while doing a test ride but normally i wear either full leathers or a full textile suit. In jeans the heat is felt much more than the textile or leather pants. Ymmv.

The 950SE has right inner thigh heat issues too . . . I would hold my right leg out a bit in slow or stopped traffic etc. The Honda ST1300 had similar issues. Just adjust your knee out to catch some air.

Hmmmm, honestly speaking, since they have totally designed a new bike, I was expecting that this and a couple of other issues have been solved. But I still like KTM, it feels much more alive after the GSA. :-))

My wife and I picked up a new 1190 Adv (not R) in Cannes, Fr about ten days ago and are now in Podgorica, Montenegro. We've got a little over 2200K since leaving and have not experienced any heat problems. Now, we should say that it's been a tad chilly in the upper Balkan Peninsula with "some" rain so that needs to be considered... Also we are wearing Klim riding suits, but there really have been NO HEAT ISSUES even when we've been in stop and go traffic in some of the bigger towns. The bike tours beautifully.

He sure does trust all those cagers he is passing. Can you imagine if a car moved over on him? Bike is impressive. Rider not so much. At least he is still alive since the last video. Going fast on the street is all about who is willing to take the most risks. Going fast on the track is a lot more about riding skill. The video is sure exciting and it is a given that the rider is nuts, but I always wonder how he would do on a track. Maybe he is a great rider with similar skills who would blister a track, or maybe he would get embarrassed because EVERYONE is going flat out and hitting 270km/hr is nothing special.

When these bikes hit the states I am going to have a serious look at getting one. The more I see, the more impressed I am.
