25 is pretty sweet indeed, I rode em last weekend for the first time. If you have a chance, ride the rode that continues south past the 25/198 intersection...it's called Peach Tree Road/Indian Valley Road and is about 40 miles of narrow 1.5 lane tarmac with no center line....very lightly traveled.

After collecting dust in the garage for a couple years, I finally took the 640A into Scuderia, had *everything* fixed up and polished, and put the bike up on Flea Market:

Actually, despite the miles and the scratches the bike is in great shape (especially with the new engine) and it still has over a year left on the extended service contract. It's a pretty good deal.

how often do you get a photo documented history of the bike you want?

i just got back in june(010) from a two year version of the same trip (on a 99 r1100gs) that ended in the ocean off the coast from the darien.
myself and two other bikers (on klr650's) were switching cargo boats (in about 10-15mtrs of water) when the panga flipped with all three bikes.
we retrieved the bikes, got them into colombia and revived the klr's after a few weeks. i couldnt afford to keep up with the $bmw$ after drowning in the sea, so i returned to the USA to save up for "la Naranjada".

i should mention that the time i spent with my GS was priceless; bmw makes a superior machine for long distance adventures. some of the best money ive ever spent!

i look forward to connecting with my new(used) BST!

I'd heard about that story, that would totally suck, you should have used some floatation devices for your BMW, it is a little tricky sometimes passing the bikes to launches and such
