As you can see, some glorious weather the past week to be sailing around there, I hope your son is enjoying it, although one day I was there they stopped a lot of the island ferries due to strong winds.

A "steak pie" is basically chunks of stewing steak in a thick gravy topped with puff pastry, think of a chicken pot pie but with beef. The ones served in pubs and chip shops are smaller, more like a folded over pocket of pastry with the filling inside. Just a local variant of something you find the world over.

I suspect the vote will be 'no', the 'yes' vote has struggled to get over 40% in polls so far, but there are a lot of undecided voters. All it will take to swing it one way or the other is an event or gaffe in the run up.

As to why there is a vote and what would happen in either scenario, that's a discussion best had with a few beers.

It ended up being $26 for Sunday alone, but with VIP parking. Outside the Random couple Harley guys and two and three sport bike squids, myself and the 8-9 Triumph club guys I rode down with were practically the only ones there, outside racers and swap meet vendors. It was dead.....but nice...not to have to fight crowds for food or the good stands seats. Interesting to see bikes from 40's, 50's, 60's, etc, racing around the same track that I have done track days on.

I was there Sunday too and thought it would be a bigger crowd. Nothing like the AMA Superbike races. Seemed like a decent amount of racers though.

3 weeks old, going in friday for the rebreak / add screws

There wasn't much of a crowd last year either (but pretty decent racer attendance). Good for many personal/selfish reasons, but unless the event pays for itself from the entrants, it's not sustainable for long.

Following vintage racing is harder than modern racing, since there are often multiple classes in the same race and unless you know who's who, it gets confusing.

They need to work on some non-racing aspects in order to draw a crowd: like a bigger flea market area, a featured marque, a midway, some manufacturer demos, manufacturer-sponsored track day, more vendors, etc.. Heck, they're at an airfield-- get some Warbirds for a fly-in.
