the "basement" is where the topics are inflammatory - religion, economics, politics, sex, insults, etc. sometimes tempers flare, and folks get nasty. and it is not uncommon for folks to get kicked off this site for posts made in the basement - that's all patrick was saying: if you want to stay on this forum, don't go to the basement and get yourself kicked off!
