a couple local San Diego guys are heading out to ride a couple of days in Arizona. We have a buddy showing us around Phoenix a couple of days, and one from our group is knowledgeable about Yuma for a day... Looking for some suggestions of trails in Prescott. Intermediate riders... solid if not spectacular... except Vic... he's amazing  but we can ride most black diamonds ok.

We are respectful of the trail, and don't smell too bad most of the time... willing to return the favor for some San Diego area hints or I can lead some local trails if that works another time.

so... any suggestions? I know some may not want to post SSS or anything, but any hints or PMs would be appreciated

The local Forest Service office has travel plan maps for free. They show the open trails. The closed to motorized trails and other restricted areas are well posted along the way. Nice riding.

I wanted to thank rattlecan for showing us some great trails, two track, fire roads and paved twisties. We got a bit of everything, some local history and some interesting tidbits

Bob (rattlecan) was running a good pace up front, and dust was not too bad as long as we either kept right up, or allowed gaps. I'll let Bob spill the beans on the ride; as soon as I download the pics I may do a ride report here or a link to out home site

Nightstalker- bob did say you were the MAN for gps tracks and local knowledge, so we'll be back for sure

Only downside was the robo-cop speeding ticket I got between prescott and prescott valley...grumble...

I knew I was in for it when Bob and Vic showed up with trials tires front and rear. I started riding over my head a bit, trying to show them a good time. It didn't take long for me to end up on my head. Here's the San Diego boys exploring the old mine off Senator Hwy.

We hit some fun trails and were on our way back when I had a high speed get off. Came over a little rise and hit a rock or something, shot 45degrees off the trail, flying sideways for about 50ft. The last thing I remember is seeing this tree coming at me. It was in one piece at the time laying on its side. Got my bell rung pretty good and it took a while to get up. I was expecting some serious damage. The tree got the worst of it, but it was dead anyway. :D That's SicVic repairing my bike after the crash

I did manage to break my wrist, so it looks like another 6 weeks on the couch. :cry Seems like this happens a lot.

I guess I earned a tour of Ocotillo Wells when I get better, which will make it all worthwhile. :clap

Nightstalker, these guys need you're expertise next time. :deal
