Wow, this thread is like a chocolate filled vanilla cupcake w/ a cherry on top to me :yum So glad I found it b/c my friends are always making excuses for not going riding- like they have to work, bike isn't running, wtver. I've got very few miles under my belt but strive to get more and would love to join some of your rides. Heck, I've even resorted to buying cheap fixer uppers just to have bikes for my friends :(:
Tho the last few pages aren't so upitty, hopefully future rides will fix that feeling. Hope u guys heal up soon.

broken bones, damaged organs, torn muscles and trauma are the criteria....plus months of rehab.....:cry destroying 2 KTMs in less than 3 months does not count....:lol3

i agree, it's not pretty in the last several months for many. there's always risk in riding, and something is bound to happen.

here are my thoughts to minimize hurting oneself

    1. ride within your skill level; i even read somewhere, use only 90% of your potential.

    2. keep the bike in good working condition.

    3. don't let peer pressure influence you.

    4. take riding lessons.

    5. make reason/logic preside over glory/emotion.

    6. avoid riding alone.

    7. take extra caution when riding unfamiliar terrain.

    8. do not ride if you're not feeling well, or take/drink anything that could adversely affect your judgement

    9. wear protective armor and proper gear.

if anyone has anything to add, please do so. thanks.

    More like NO style.

Still can't believe no injury with the eception of my bike. Just bumped my forarm a bit. My finger tips on my left hand a little sore..........probably from clawing into the mountain as I was headed down. :huh Been up that rocky ridge many times. Never thought I would take a left off that shear drop off. :yikes Bike cartwheeled 3 times as well as me. Came to rest at a boulder the size of a front door. :huh :huh :huh :knary

Thanks you Mike and Tony for help with the bike retrieval. Walk it to the bottom and rode back to the camp. :shog Rode like a little :toney for sure!

Well it is a hillclimb. 5 maybe 6 hundred yards to the top? I don't know ......it just all went bad :dunno I know I was in the rocky part of the trail. Mike says he saw the bike buck and the front end came up. Kinda like jump'n off the side of an oceanliner. Long way down.
