Akrapovic exhaust on F800GS

When I fitted my Akro the spacers are around the other way leaving more room for the luggage (Holan on order)

Can you post a photo or diagram of this, show me what you mean?

Off the top of my head, I don't think it will fix my Hepco problem. But it might help with the Holan balanced setup. Let us know if you go down that path.

There is no need for sealer in that location. The fit is very snug and there will not be any leakage.

(Look of shame) No, I ordered the pipe with the bike and it was dealer-fitted prior to delivery. I have the OEM pipe in a box but haven't paid much attention to how it fits. It's not something I expect to have to do, trail-side

I do not have an Acrapovic but I do have a TBR pipe.

I slipped the stock one off, no sealant there, slipped the TBR on, no sealant there, just tight fit metal to metal. No problems.

No mention of it when I bought mine. As it's a BMW accessory with a BMW part number, I'm sure this would have been included by those comprehensive Chermans in their instructions.

I am also looking into htis can.
-Is there a diferences between a dealer ordered with BMW part #, and one from a lets say an online Akro dealer?
-Are there more than one Akro slip on for this bike?

No, the Akrapovic' does NOT need repacking. Ever. It and the Remus use less restrictive metal baffling technologies.
All (or most) of the others use a perforated tube with noise deadening material around that tube, packed into the outer sleeve.

Short video I made to test out the GoPro. Point is - listen to the sound of the Akro (even with cheap microphone). I had knobbies on front and rear when this was made so a throttle off in several sections when I hit 90mph.

Tell me the Akro is not worth it.

You sure about that? I have opened up a few Akra pipes and all of them were straight through designs unlike OEMs that have an internal baffling system (and really will last almost forever).

Yep. I'm not saying that they're less restrictive. I'm simply saying that their technology doesn't include the use of material which will degrade over time. Outside of that "straight-through tube" are various channels, not fiberglass matting.

Correct. The only degrading element is corrosion, and perhaps deposits.

You're gonna lose the shiny carbon hanger and end cap first - lifespan of carbon fibre in UV light is measured in months, not years. I'd imagine a well-ridden F8 that gets parked in the sunlight during the day (eg, regular commuter) will start to look a bit seedy within five years.

I never ever wash my bikes. Dirt is a protective film.

I've never managed to keep a bike long enough for it to need washing
