Wow, this bike looks cool! :clap First time I see that short beak together with TT-Desierto shield on the F8. I was also thinking of these mods.
    Anyway, what paint/color is that?

The paint is PPG Shopline number 45244 (olive green)
I am really happy with the short beak conversion. I like the look and I think it makes less wind noise than the stock beak. I also put on the TT fender risers at the same time.

Nice paint job WW Ronin! Stupid question: are those aftermarket graphics and if so, where to get them and how to get the originals off the bike before painting?

I'm picking this guy up on Friday. Got white so it could be a blank slate!!!

You can peel those graphics right off. Didn't take to much effort. I got the replacement ones from one of the vendors here. I think it was Humvee graphics or some such name.

    What's next? WABDR?

Edit: for any of you considering it, let me just whet the appetite. Saturday morning, we were woke up by two bull elk clashing horns just outside our tent. If that isn't getting close to God and nature, I don't know what is. Best damn ride ever.

Post up that ride report. I just did the WABDR and thought it was awesome. I've got my sights set on the OBCDR next year and was trying to decide if I should ride my F800 or rig up WR250R for multi-day. Sounds like your F800 did OK.

Did the WABDR and the OBDCR. I took the WR on the OBDCR and the F8 on the WABDR. If I were to do it again I would take the F8 on both. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=503392&highlight=hodakaguy

I rode up to Fourmile Lake at the base of Mt. McLoughlin (9,495 ft.) in the southern Cascade Range this weekend. The first winter storm of the year was just starting to roll in. In a couple of days the mountain will have its first coat of snow, and the Forest Service road I rode in on will be a mud pit and/or buried in snow until June. Ah well, summer was nice while it lasted.
