HD has been making bikes over 100 years and this is the 1st time one has been to Magadan? :ear

I thought they had been all over used by various military groups and such.

Excellent ride-along for the rest of us psuedo-adventurers! Congrats on making Magadan. I was hoping to see you at Barber but figured you'd be on the road. I'll look for you there. Buy you a coke. Be safe. Hope to see you soon.

Doug's from Alabama and in Russia - get it? I actually thought it was pretty cool that the Red Army Choir would play with the Leningrad Comboys.

    Way to go, Doug! Congratulations!!!

    Wow, Thanks everyone!

Im still a bit sore. got lucky tho, found a boat leaving today for vladi, so I will put the bikes on it, and fly to Vladi tomorrow, spend a few days letting my body heal a bit, and do some siteseeing with Poly.

3200km of mostly gravel/potholed/rocky road really took the wind out of me.

Im glad I made it here, but I really wish I could have done the old summer road cutoff, but it was not meant to be. They had bad storms a few days earlier, & the Kyubeme river had washed 2 russian jeeps downstream the day before we got there as they tried to cross, & it was still pretty high. We could have crossed it in a big Kamaz truck, but there were other rivers to deal with after that. The crazy guys from Moscow (there were 5 of them left, Oleg crashed south of Yakutsk, & broke his arm)
said they were going to try it. 2 days later, they were only in Tomtor, and I havent heard anything from them in the last 3 days.
But, they are MUCH better riders than I am, and have much better bikes. plus, my airfilter isnt good for deep water.
But, as Im an idiot, I was willing to try it with them, but Tom had more sense and didnt want to try, as all the locals said not to.
    So I stuck with Tom.

Maybe another day, I will come back. But for now, at least I made it here, and I am going to get a Magadan tattoo to commemorate it :)
