Exactly, Bajadad. I know I'll never be a Quinn Cody or some badass desert racer, but I do know I'll have just as much, if not more fun. That's why I ride in this and other events. Plus, I've made a lot of good friends and gotten valuable information to help me on my own personal moto adventures. Can't wait!

So you're saying my chances of making it as a pro rally/desert racer are slim at 43 :huh
So I guess I'm it it for a fun too......and beer then hoping I get to room with Tim M. if he drinks enough beer :feelgood

I support your position 100%. I think that NORRA is the best place for the "Dust to Gloryites" and "Bucket Listers" to experience Baja at speed. The same fr others with experience and just want like you've said, a bit of comfort in knowing you aren't going to be out in east bajesus all by yourself. I know Cam Theriot will be driving his 4 seat buggy with multiple Baja winner Larry Ragland ALONG WITH THEIR WIFES simply because the want the girls share in the FUN.

This race is the most fun you will ever have in Baja. Trying to turn it into some full blown rally, not allowing GPS, or start stacking on a bunch of other rules just takes away from the spirit of the event.

I'm with that. My competitive days were 35+ years ago. Now, I'm in it for the challenge without being crazy, and the pure fun of the event!!!

Yes and maybe no. The GPS file that will be posted on the NORRA website MAY be too big for your GPS. If that's the case, I'll do a few tricks so it will fit. I'll be getting the official GPS file in a few days (way before it's let out to the public), so I'll take a look at it and see what can be done. Maybe I can talk NORRA into posting the GPS file in several variations to accommodate more units?

Also, sometime before the race you'll come to know this web page if you haven't been there already:

That's because I was the one who made the final official files in 2012. This year Ken is doing it, probably off his Lowrance data, and he's not so experienced with the ins and outs of Garmin units.

The plan is that the car will go to Vegas to be on display for the Mint 400 next weekend (as a "roller" not running) and then back home to finish up plumbing & electrical.
