I've seen it, i was going to say Wallambilla, but i'm thinking it's in the Brisbane Valley somewhere.
Made by Walkers in Maryborough, so there could be a few around the same. Not Wallumbilla but on an old branch line off that main western line. West of the Great Divide, but only just.
I thought I'd seen it as well but now that I've found the town & crane on Google, I don't think I have. I've only ever ridden straight through town & so wouldn't have taken the necessary detour. I had thought it was up on the line through Gayndah.
Thats at the northern end of Buckby rd just before you go down the last steep pinch to the Eumundi/Kenilworth rd, a few k's out from Cooloolabin, looking down onto Lockes lane. Oh, and Gheerulla in the background. mick.
I'd know that crossing anywhere. Back in '74 I drowned a Yam 175 Trail on the other side of the river, to the left side of the causeway. Put the side-stand down in, shall we say, less than firm ground, stepped off and in she went, while the engine was still turning over. Needless to say, it stopped abruptly the moment it went under. Diamantina River - old crossing, just down the road from the thriving metropolis of Birdsville, QLD. Called by there in October after a Simpson Desert crossing. Will take another look at it on my April/May trip. So far only me on a Tenere and a mate driving a Toyota tray back to carry food/fuel etc. Going from Dalhousie to Birdsville via Rig Road/Knolls/QAA.
