Well it began last fall with my purchase of a 1990 transalp. Always wanted one and found a good deal onone in Texas.

I am in Louisiana for work and have to be in Ohio 23 May 09 for a Family gathering. Sounds like a good enough reason to me. I started planning a while ago and reading thru everything here. I bought my riding gear when I bought the bike, picked up some saddle bags, have pretty much packed up the light weight camping gear I already owned along with some tools, A phone and a camera. I know there are some things I will forget but this will be a road trip so I should be able to hit a Wally world If the need arises.

I will try to throw in a few pics of the Alp loaded tonight.

Anyway, I have one more work commitment this afternoon and then it is time to finish reloading everything and hitting the road.

Day one - First leg will be Lafayette LA to Natchez MS. Dwalt has been kind enough to link up with me, show me the sights of Natchez and put me up for the night. Can't thank him enough.

day two - Natchez to somewhere on the Natchez trace, No real planned stop, several options.

Day three - Hunstvilleto Nashville then on to Mammoth cave KY

Day four - Mammoth cave KY to Ohio river.

Day five - Ohio river on into Urbana

still flexible just want to be there on to 19th or 20th.

I can't wait to get started. I am sure it will be a trip to remember. Next update should be Sat/Sun. I will be in Huntsville AL at a friends house.

Thanks for all that have helped me plan it this far, Maybe I will run into some of you on the way.

As for the Operation name, look it up, kinda like the road to no where, Never ending. that and too much time in the Army.

Sounds good, when you load more pics, you might want to resize them a bit smaller! We're not all running widescreen HD monitors yet! :D

Tim was here, Pops and I met him in St. Franny, rode some back roads, and had lunch.

Hey all just an up date. I made it to Huntsville AL around noon Yesterday.

Found a great campground in MS near tupelo Friday night by shear luck.

woke up early and outran the rain until I got in to Decatur, then rode on into Huntsville in a light rain.

I will post the pics i took in a couple days when I am on my own computer.

Just wanted to say thanks again to Dwalt and his family and let everyone know I was alright.

I will be back on the road at daylight tomarrow.

Well, between my camera, my computer, and lack of internet I am just now getting the ride report done from May and June. Here we go, one day at a time.
