    hi there,

yes, i'm after the tubeless tires that can be used on those cast rims..
if only BMW had designed the same rims on the 1200ADV for the F800gs, then it'll be fantastic.. never like tube tires. my front tube tire's pressure always drops after a week to 170 from 230..

smaller front diameter rim would also help in reducing the turning radius of the bike. i do not go offroad often so do not need the 21" tires!

How about trading the F800GS in for a Verseys or SV650 "Wee Strom"? Or just buy a F800ST?

I'll trade as I have an F650 with cast rims and would like to swap them out for spokes. Not sure if we will have disk problems... Doesn't the F800 have twin disks up front??

Copied from a thread on our local Duals Sport club website...

    Date: August 25th 2009

    Odometer reading : 8520 Km

This tire has roughly 1850 Km on it to date, and i've been through a lot of sh!t with this tire for the type of bike. And I have only dropped the bike once in a water hole that wasn't even that muddy... go figure!
Tire wear is down to 9mm (4 mm wear) with about 80% asphalt (biggest day was about 400Km of asphalt with 27 to 30 Deg weather running from 90KPH to 150KPH.
Last week, I brought the bike up to a way stoopid speed on the highway, and stability was great. I'm surprised the MT-21 didn't start spitting knobs.

    The good:
Wears better than the TKC to date
Marginally better on dirt roads than the TKC
Way better in wet stuff than the TKC
Quite a bit harder to drift in corners (Good but not as much fun... )

    The not so good:
    Noisy tire on asphalt
Doesn't handle twisties on asphalt as well as the TKC

    some pics from earlier tonite.

This is cross posted. Gnarlyparts will no longer be carrying Mitas. They have some rears in stock so get em while they got em.

Just a quick FYI, the Australian supplyer suggested to stay away from the Dakar on ashphalt because they way to harder compound when i had a chat over the phone with him, and that it probably wouldn't last all that much longer anyway.
My 2c is that the regular E-09 is 11ty times better using at as a 50/50 tyre. I have about 10,000 between the two.

Just ordered another Conti TKC80 rear. I tore through a rear on my last trip in 3,000 miles. Mostly tarmac though, so it's understandable. The front is still in good condition. A little bit of cupping, but nothing that reversing the tire can't fix!:thumb

Yeah, still diggin 'em. I just passed 7,000 miles, of which about 2,500 is off-tarmac. They have plenty of tread left on them. I figure that I should get at least another 1,500 to 2,000 miles from the rear, maybe a little more from the front. Amazing tires. :thumb

Hey Griz, if you're only getting 3,000 out of a rear TKC-80, you may want to give these a try to get you through that Minnysoooota winter.

Yeah, man, I'm stoked that you're getting that kind of mileage out of that rubber! I already placed the order for a new TKC80 rear, so I think for now I'm just going to throw that on. However, next Spring, if those Heidi's are still around, I'm more than likely going to throw them on!!:thumb

Yeah its a good combo if you've got do do big highway miles then hit the dirt or want somethign that rides ok on ashphalt. The only thing i didn't like about the 606 was sandy gravel, they hate it.
