Yuck yuck yuck lol. I'm running the rear k60 and no issues. Dual sport tires are like dual sport bikes, you have to compromise a little and know your limitations. I'm a very safe rider, I rarey lean the bike more than 88 or 89 degrees...
After it's shakedown ride to the desert yesterday am, I gave it a good cleaning and added a couple personal touches to it, including a mount for my spot and a mini number decal from my desert racing. Definitely need an air hose to get this thing dried up good.
I agree with Macadamia, I am going on my 4th set of K60's with over 50,000 miles on them. I never had any problems with them. It's all about the respect you have for the conditions and the tires. Ride smart
Replaced the oil seal and the dust boot on one side of the front suspension. What came out was red. The stuff that went in was clear. Was the oil from the factory red or did somebody put transmission fluid in it?
Installed GPS on Friday and drove up to Red bluff, Ca. Saturday morning drove to Rick Mayer to have saddles redone. Had a great time at Ricks visiting with other riders who were all getting seats redone. This morning left Red Bluff an headed west on Highway 36. 140 miles of of curves two up what a beautiful ride. Ricks seats were great all the way south back down 101 to bay area.
I drove past my GS/A in the garage with my car... I had to fill-up the car with gas too... first gas added to the car since December 7, 2012... My car has only been driven 206 miles since December 7, 2012... I love my motorcycles!
Gotta love Hwy 36. I was up in that area last week also. Took 101 north then hwy 299 from Arcata to hwy 96 to Happy Camp. Hwy 48 out of Happy Camp was closed, but took it anyway (I'm on an Adventure bike anyway, right?) to 199 then on to Crater Lake, (lots of snow). Then I5 south to 96 west and home basically the same way. Took my time, three days. What a great ride, great bike.
Just went thru the better part of the 6000mi svc; changed oil, tranny fluid & final drive fluid. Added some dynabeads to the front and rear-need to get 'er up to speed and check it out. Checked and adjusted the valves. Thanks JVB for the (video) encouragement. I feel like she's ready for the RawHyde Adventure Rally at the Overland Expo this weekend!

Not really bike related but it's all back together and running well so I took it out for a night run last night. I rode it over to a local studio to do a photo shoot to get promo shots for a new web series I will be appearing in.
Flew through a swarm of honey bees on the super slab and added a couple pounds of bee guts to the windscreen and visor... Didn't affect my mileage though!
scheduled the 12k mile service and general once over at the dealership on Friday. This is the last service before heading out on my 44 day Awesome Alaskan Adventure...
