Please re read post 216 several times slowly. See if it clear, As Far As I Know They Are Not Out Yet.... If you find yourself in Cheraw stop by the POLICE Station and see if they have them. Then let us all know what the order will be.

Will Page 8 in this 48-page Rally Guide PDF from the rally site help you? Looks like a schedule to me.

You should have said that earlier. I went through Cheraw after going through Chesterfield on the way home this afternoon.
I might make it to Cheraw tomorrow and I'll see if I can pick one up.

Then I will post it so everyone but you, Mr. Smartypants, can see it! :fitz

Anyway, Thank You Laura for finding that. Here it is>

That's it same as last year I think. We would be taking lunch at the sandtrap hairpin. Stage if we go off the stage schedual. If we pack lunch and eat before or as we wait for the racers (plenty of time).

Any one interested in riding from spectator area to area?

Ok here we are four days out trying to make plans. Just talked with Kg about this but I will be at work Sat. For four hours, this will have me going through places to get there at 11:30 to 12:00. This will put me in a place to pick up pizzas in either t-ville or hartsville. How does this sound?

I will be there, but don't really know how things will work. I have volunteered as a helpy helper and was assigned to the Sand Trap. I hope to see some of you there.... just don't know if the spectator area will be in sight or how long I will be at my post.

Who is going to take a killer shot of Jonah Street on Saturday? One like this one would be acceptable. :D

Looking through the list and only see 1 yamie. Bunch of advrider inmates 7 or 8. I think this might be him but not sure.

his pratice bike is listed in the flea market and he is an inmate. The bike would be a good deal for someone wanting to pay 20k for a 450 yamie.:huh

I couldn't tell if the number plate on the bike in the pic I posted was 7 or 1. I guess if it's a 1 it would be Coma.

This is going to be an odd post for me as I'm not usually one for group rides, especially to suggest it. My dad bought a Harley from the local shop in November. When he did, we each got a 24 hour rental pass to use within 90 days of his purchase, which I just realized ends next Saturday. There is no mileage limit as I specifically asked. I've never been one to burn miles just for the sake of it, but with my not having to worry of the maintenance and reliability of a bike that has already been cared for by a professional (or at least someone I can trust more than my own maintenance), I'm thinking of renting one of their touring bikes and pushing myself next Saturday, aiming to leave the shop Saturday, 02-12, at noon-2 and would return Sunday by noon-2.

I will be hitting a hotel as I wouldn't want to bring camping supplies on a bike I'm not familiar packing with and having to mess with the limited daylight hours. I think 350 miles each way is as far as I would reasonably want to do, but could do up to a 100 more. Assuming an average of 50 mph (taking rest and gas stops into account), I be doing 6-7 hours of riding each day, so stopping by 8pm Saturday night, and leaving the hotel by 7am Sunday.

I'm wanting input on how this sounds for a distance-riding noob, bike choices, destination ideas, and seeing if anyone would be interested in coming along.

Oh, and here are the bikes listed available that I would be interested in for rental from Lowcountry Harley:
    2009 Road King
    2010 Street Glide
    2010 Ultra Classic

Here were the ones that didn't strike my fancy or didn't have luggage for an out-of-town ride:
    2009 Buell Blast
    2009 Dyna Fat Bob
    2009 Softail Custom
    2009 Heritage Softail Classic
    2009 CVO Fat Bob
    2010 Road Glide

    the ultra for comfort..

street glide is nice looking ride.....

but thats a lot to take on for a bike you've never been on.....those 800lb + bikes are a hand full....and you plan to jump on and ride for 7 hrs..... unless you been riding your daddy's

    wow.......

90% of motorcycle accidents happen when the rider has less than 1000 miles on the bike they are riding.... might be 80% but you get the point.......

    ride safe.....

    i would recommend, heading SOUTH.......

I've ridden his Dyna around a dozen or so times (maybe 400 miles total), and owned a Shadow 1100 for a year (3000 miles), and rode my dad's Vulcan 1500 intermittently for 3 years. I'm aiming for a slow pace because of the inexperience with a big bike, which I forgot to mention. I was thinking of taking 17 down to Jacksonville, ~260 miles and 6 hours by Google's calculation.

35 hours out and it looks like it will be raining and cold. The event is 100% outside, Chance of snow but no accumulation.
Any ideas of how many and what about lunch?
