Oof...Friday night was somewhat of the hook. Saturday ride was kind of short, but still got a few nice pictures. The ride did not end well for all. No major worries though, both the rider and the bike will be on the road again.
No pictures worth a crap from the ride home. My mind was on getting home through the heat more than it was on getting more pictures. Great weekend was had and there are still a couple hours worth of video to go through. Sigh...
I have most of the videos uploaded. Still have one more from day 2 and all of day 3 video to post. Those will require editing, so they will be a little delay. First up is the north end of Fort Valley <iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" width="425" height="240" src="https://api.smugmug.com/services/embed/1868580362_gXvBMQh?width=425&height=240"></iframe>
Here is a little side trip of the Blue Ridge Parkway called Roanoke Mountain Loop. It's about 12 miles south of Roanoke and is worth the time. <iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" width="425" height="240" src="https://api.smugmug.com/services/embed/1868595779_8PM5W36?width=425&height=240"></iframe>
Thursday was the RT 16 and Burke's Garden ride. Rt 16 Part 1 - heading north out of Hungry Mother State Park. <iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" width="425" height="240" src="https://api.smugmug.com/services/embed/1873308868_Dzx6jBz?width=425&height=240"></iframe> Rt 16 Part 2 - the second mountain <iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" width="425" height="240" src="https://api.smugmug.com/services/embed/1873366809_rb9VRfG?width=425&height=240"></iframe>
After running the Dragon's Back (new name to attract the squids), I heading into Burke's Garden on Hwy 623. <iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" width="425" height="240" src="https://api.smugmug.com/services/embed/1873381676_hCSdJ3K?width=425&height=240"></iframe> I also have video of Hwy 623 heading out the back of Burke's Garden. It is about 35 minutes and needs editing before I post it. Should be good, considering I had to go bush whacking to ride the road.
This little clip is actually edited <iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" width="425" height="284" src="https://api.smugmug.com/services/embed/1873384488_6cJbDkz?width=425&height=284"></iframe> I know that Rick was up there laughing at me.
Last for now is Haven Ridge/Nebo Mountain. Great road with pavement beat up enough to keep most squids away. <iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" width="425" height="240" src="https://api.smugmug.com/services/embed/1873487112_4j2WfLW?width=425&height=240"></iframe>
...just haven't been doing much recreational riding lately. I did finally get out for a day ride Saturday. Here are some pictures for ya. I went over to Michaux SF with a couple of other inmates. Lost one almost immediately due to Bescker Gap Rd beating his bike a little too much. As per normal, I just never got around to actually stopping... Smile, you're on camera! We were not the only people enjoying the last good day before the Frankenstorm starts in. That's all that I have worth posting. I might have to make another trip next weekend, just to get a before and after storm comparison.
Yeah, it is not looking quite so nice now. Winds about 20 mph and let's just say it is more than a little moist.
Happy New Years to all. First ride of the ride was short mileage, but got lots of pictures. Gonna try to be better about keeping this thread moving this year. Not exactly The Darth Peach, but I do what I can. BTW, if you have not read her thread, get your ass over there and do so. Right after reading mine, of course. Trying to get more shots off the bike...
There is a lot of electrical power generated in my area. As most know, I work at Three Mile Island, which is very near where these two shots were taken. There is also the York Haven Hydro-electric plant. and Brunner Island, a dirt burner, or coal fired plant.
