hey Roger I gotta correct that. I will edit the post.
Gotta love the internet world, things can get so confused.:norton

Marley Ann is RacingWoody's lil' girl and she sure is pretty.
He introduced her to us a little earlier in the thread.
The baby I am holding in the photo, is my little boy and his name is David.

I was asking her (Marley Ann) if David had any boyfriend potential.
    Just trying to be funny.
Woody is going to laugh his butt off when he reads this.

Hey guys, I am having a problem with the throttle seeming to get stuck open at 3500-4000 rpms. When it does get stuck, I can rev the throttle a time or two and it will drop back down to 1500. Also, when it is down at 1500 rmp and I rev it, it will sputter and the engine will almost die. Any ideas how I can diagnose what is causing this problem?

Hey. I'm new. Been lurking for some time now...never had the energy to sign on, after all the pages of tech I've been reading...:D

But after I found this...I had to.

I hope I'm not chasing a wild goose, but I'm not going to rule it out..

Anyway. Who want's 17" front wheel? I've been sitting at the house trying to figure out an economical way to get 17s and I MIGHT have found a way.

My speedo died so I gad to get another gear...I got on the local dealers parts finder and looked up the front speedo gear of a CRF230M in hopes of getting something, and the part #'s match. Not that that would make the wheel a match, but it's a place to start...

The sad part is, there is no listing for the 17" wheel or hub...I'm assuming, YET. Since it's new.

At (my estimate) $200-$300 for a factory Honda 17" front wheel, I fully intend to find out if this will work on my Nx. I refuse to pay $600 to $2,000 just to get an aftermarket 17" "race" wheel...It's not THAT hardcrore....:D

Also, just for giggles. My dealer says the R (or left, I forgot) side fairing and the cowl are still available. Not cheap, but still available. I though all the stuff was discontinued?

Also,,,can anybody get any AX-1 cams? I'm thinking about punching my bore out (or better yet, leaving it alone). I did read where the cylinder walls were coated, and would try to coat it after the bore, but I can't find that post and which piston to use.

I can't find a better bike new, for what I need (Honda won't sell it if it aint a hyper-race bike, Cruiser or super tall, kick start/ dirt only bike. What's up with that?) . So I think I'll just mod mine :D

The CRF230M?...pft! :huh For 2 grand more...I'll take the Versys.

Now if Honda would just import the FMX 650....:deal

My speedo died right before it hit 30K the other day....does'nt rotate while on the road so me thinks it might also be the gear. What does one cost?

    thanks

    I only needed the gear. It was @ $22. P# 44806-KW3-000

I took it loose where the cable meets the wheel, picked up the front wheel and spun it. That'll tell you which end your problem is. If the slot doesn't rotate, it's the gear. If it does, it's in the speedo.

    Good luck.

Below, is the parts list from a local dealer. For a 89 Nx250. You can go back out, and get the year specific one, I just picked the one in the middle.

I'll try that lift and spin technique-Im thinking since the inner cable isnt rotating, the gear has gone south..Hopefully, the speedo itself is not the prob.

Greetings. I noticed in the pic that your rear suspension has an adjuster at the top of the spring; my AX1 doesn't have that. Did the adjuster come as an original equipment or was that an after-market up grade? TIA.

    *****

Is your NX250 a different year than the one listed on our site?

If not the rear is JTR245/2.38 and it is available to your dealer from
Tucker Rocky the Tr part number is 269705 and they had stock in their
    Chicago warehouse as of today.

The front is a little more difficult...only two sprockets share the
spline with only the JTF285 being made in 14 teeth. The profile of this
sprocket is completely different as you can see in the link below.

I just don't think you will have a way to attached the sprocket to the
counter shaft. The shaft is not threaded or drilled and tapped to allow
a nut or a bolt an washer attachment. I see no way to get a 14 tooth
without modification of the shaft and I cannot recommend that.

In any event the only three 11 spline sprockets with 18.4 x 21.6
dimensions are the 280, 285, and 1321 and the 285 is the only one
    available in 14 teeth.

I wish this was better new but hopefully it is helpful.

Great guy at JT. He responded to me in around a day.

I'm not giving up on finding the sprocket, I believe it's out there, only .01 different in measurements :rolleyes and that's why we cant find it.

Weather it's out there or not, I believe getting a rear and chain is easier...:cry
