The race courses are a different sort of routes/terrain than rides like Kacey Smith's routes ( http://www.bajagpsguide.com/ ) ...her stuff is more along the lines of enduro, while the race courses are all double track and roads.

Well boys I'm only half way through this report and loving it.

It embodies the true joy off off roading. Challenging yourself with the terrain at times, and enjoying the landscapes you're travelling through. You boys hit the nail on the head.

Nobody knows me at all but I just bought a KTM 500 in Los Angeles and had planned to do a bunch of offroading in Southeast US and Mexico before shipping it over to Thailand. Sadly a busted arm kept the off roading at bay during my multi month stay in Los Angeles and now I'm back in Thailand with my steed reading about your wonderful adventure.

If by chance you're doing this again next year and there are even longer rides I'd love to get a line of communication started that could have me ship the 500 back to LA for some fun desert riding. If there's a list getting started by all means put me on the list and feel free to PM me regarding any rides, suss out whether I'm worthy of an invite, etc.

Yes since I live primarily in Thailand all my riding is done is Southeast Asia (Thailand, Laos, Cambodia) which I have enjoyed thoroughly as there are no restrictions on trail access which is such a nice change from the states and something you guys were enjoying in Mexico. I had hoped to ride in my old stomping grounds of Southern California and experience mexico whilst back in California getting the bike, alas a broken arm kept me from enjoying the deserts sadly.

And receiving it in the Thai Airport safe and sound.









More importantly, finally its ( and my first ride post arm break) shakedown ride camping in the jungles of Thailand on some singletrack.



I'll slowly get it accustomed to the mud and clay of SEA but it sure would like a shot at three foot deep sand whoops and rocky singletrack desert rides.

Maxxis have been removed, Tubliss inserted and other mods for its life of multi week offroading trips.
