I agree too, Doc ...a fabulous country pub When we were there, the UHF radio crackled into life and a voice said ....... "we'll like to order takeaway thanks" ...... next thing a chopper landed & the crew walked off with a slab of XXXX :huh I figured if I made my mark close to big letters, it'll be easier to find when I feel thirsty again
Well today the twins had their heart lung surgery it was a long day in theatre but the outcome was way better than expected. After all the unwanted rubbish was taken out (precleaner, main filter, airbox, sas system and associated hoses) when all the discarded parts from both bikes were out it filled quite a large box. While we had them open this far the valves were checked and all were within spec(22000kms) Ozzies didn't need doing so we proceeded with the jetting and new needles those 180 main jets are big buggers I can only imagine if the taps were fully open it wouldn't take long to drain that 30lt tank.New set of plugs and new coolant then it was on to the new filters fixing base plates it all went together fairly well just a tiny bit of die grinding on underside of the base plate to get it snug. Locked it down with the 2 new RC8 verlocity stacks. Oiled up the filter pulled 2 filter skins over it put the tank back on crossed my fingers and fired it up no worries run fine right to the limiter. Test ride Man I wasn't expecting it to be this good but Ken at head to wind knows his shit with the jetting smooth as right through fatter at the bottom and when those big mains come in shit you want to be hang'in on. And the intake noise is for lack of better word evil ! But the best part you can get your arm right in there to pull the filter skins out and put new ones on I think you could probley get the filter out without pulling the tank off. Spark plugs are easy accessible even the front one everything that was hard to do in there is now easy. It's early days yet but this could be one of the best mods I have done to this bike and there is no more decel popping.
LOL Trev, do you think they will use that extra power !!!! Look out guys even more rocks will be flying from the back wheel of the big KTM Terry
ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh ahhhhhhhh ooooooooohhh urrrmmmmmmmmmmm'' very very nice .. not a fan of filter skins tho ................. I reckon the power spread would make them nice and tidy to ride .......... good call A.
In case anyone's interested, I'm planning a trip up to the Flinders in Nov. Dates are: leaving Adelaide Wed 14th Nov, returning Sunday 18th Nov. My cousin manages Rawnsley Park station, and will keep me posted on the weather as it gets closer to the date. Haven't decided on a route up there yet, but am looking at going through Renmark, and up through Danggali - Yunta - Arkaroola, as an option. Otherwise, more or less straight up the guts (on dirt where possible). Ultimately, spending a couple of days riding some of the tracks around the place. If that doesnt work out, plan B might involve following the Murray bank from Renmark towards Wentworth, then drop down into the eastern end of Murray-Sunset, and making way back west to Loxton (in a roundabout sort of way). Will post more details later. Cheers
Keep reving me up im keen as work slows down a bit that time of year so time off is ok but could be the $$$$$
Would be great if you could make it Shannon! Shouldn't need to be an expensive trip - just fuel, food n grog (unless you're going to drink like a friggin whale (why does Grant come to mind right now?) - in which case, you may need to take out a small loan
Got it from here. In case anyone's wondering........ This........ Turns into this........(steak,snags, coals not included!):eek1 Best damn non-bike farkle money can buy, I reckon
I will give them another race around Mt Samuel Track, I think that's about the only place I could ever manage to stay in front of the bros. on their 950SE's..
