initial thought was tule, then i looked at the topo, it's about 3 to 4K, which has higher elevation than indian canyon at 3K feet.

chances are, there will be ice and snow. and as far as sawmill, that's much higher elevation, and like javier said, there's snow.

looks like this weekend we're pretty much stuck watching videos.

i may take the gs for a road ride, if anyone will be interested, let me know. maybe meet around 9am.

I rode around Lytle creek today. Lots of dirt w/ no snow. You can't go very far, relative to what rides you're used to, but you can do loops. Think i'll get out tomorrow sometime.

You can ride from Lytle Creek all the way to Randsburg, Pinnacles, Goler, DV, etc, etc, etc and beyond with only 15 miles of slab.

EJ: It's out near Glen Helen where the 15 and the 215 come together, really south of there. Get off the 15 @ Sierra/Lytle Creek Rd and head north-west. There are many fireroads to explore. Not any single track that i know of. I like it because it suits my skill level and it's close to me.

Off the 15 between the 215 and the 10. From here you can ride North through the mountains over to the 138 and then get on Baldy Mesa Rd. Baldy Mesa Rd takes you up through the mountains above the Cajon pass and then over to Alta Loma/Adelanto. From there you can stay on BM rd which will turn to slab for about 8 miles and then back into dirt at Koala Rd. From here, you can get to El Mirage, Randsburg, Teagle Wash, Pinnacles, etc, etc. Going west out of Randsburg will take you over to Jawbone and Redrock Canyon.........and The Mojave Brewery:clap . You can do all of this with less than 20 miles of slab.

If you have Google Earth loaded, shoot me a PM and I will shoot you a fly-by file of this route all the way to Randsburg

ej, looks like you're just as grounded as we are locally....:huh

lytle creek is just north of devore and glen helen. i've never been there except those days when we use it to shoot our guns in the 80s.

the route ends when dirt begins...plenty of dirt roads. we need to schedule a ride and check this place out. no one i know, except for marty and mat know this area, chances are wzl knows it too.
