you were asking what we paid for our Transport.
It was about 1000€ for each bike from Geneva to Boston.
That was about the cheapest and most comfortable deal we could find.

    Hi Curtis,
we wanted to thank you and the rest of the guys for the wonderfull evening in A B Q. We really enjoyed the warm welcome we got.

We are sitting in Washington at the moment waiting for our flight to Boston.
See you guys maybe in december.
    Cheers Thomas

And to all the rest of you, sorry for letting you wait.
I wanted to do this while we are on the way, but it didn't work out.(For a lot of reasons.)
But don't worry. We are on our way home and as soon as we are there you will get the full Story. So hang on.

After the break it was back into the woods.

Where there was some more water waiting for us.
I think this was the widest crossing but not very deep.
Sandra taking it with no trouble at all.

During another break Sandra checking out the map where we are and what is to come.

Sorry got to get to work at the office. More to come.

It was on one of these first days that Sandra asked me if I was comfortable with the speed I was doing. "Well its nice cruising along", I answered. "But your not going slow because of me are you? You could go a bit faster."Well we have been going offroad together for many years in many parts of the world, but she never told me to go faster up to now. Normally she maybe slowed me down a bit. So she was feeling good on her bike and that even though she had pretty well used old tyres on the rims.
Ok she didn't have to say that to me twice. Now the fun began. Not that we are the racing guys but did make more miles now and the riding was more intersting.

Entering Mississippi the ground became a more red color.

And here we have Sandras "red in the evening Mississippi dust face".

Sam does not lead you through too many places with a shop so when he does its always nice to have a break for a drink or a snack.
Here we are in Paris (without the french).

Some of the signs we past we just didn't understand or didn't see.

    And it always went through.

There were a lot of straight fast gravel parts where you could really make some miles.

Her some more pictures of Sandra catching up with me.

I never had to wait long. Some times she was close behind me. Some times it took a couple of seconds because there was alot of dust or she stopped to take a picture.

Later that afternoon we went over the mighty Mississippi river and spent the night in Helena.

After leaving Helena in the morning we made a couple of miles when we came across a sign I had seen pictures of in other ride reports here on ADV.

Of course we stopped. There was a man standing infront of the house. Seeing us he asked if we were the swiss. He had seen our report on ADV and had figured out that we should have been here yesterday allready. So he had been waiting for us. Now isn't that nice. We talked to him for a while and had a look at the interesting inside of the house. He even called a friend of his who came by to meet us. Really nice stop. Thanks alot.

Here is Sandra signing the book.

    and chatting inside the house.

In the afternoon of that day we began to get haunted by bad luck for a couple of days. (stricking 3 times)

    1. strike

Sandra got a flat on her front tyre.

Luckily ther was a log lying around we could use as a centerstand.

I found the leak and it looked like a mistake during produktion. To be faster I just threw in our spare front tube filled in air and on we went.

Then we came across another "road closed"sign. The bridge was out. But some other riders had found the way through allready. We saw some tyre marks.

And here we pass that part.

Then in the evening came strike 2.

Our notebook hadn't liked the day and now looked like this.

This made the usable part of the screen small and added another couple of dollers to the costs of the trip.
