I see that Harbor Freight has their MC table lift on sale for $299 this weekend. I hear that it's a pretty good value.
George, I have a "Big Red" lift that is very similar to the harbor freight except it's a scissor. A few "conversions" on the HB lift and it really isn't a bad deal. I'd sell you mine, but as soon as I do that....my bike will explode! Oh, get a wheel chock while you're there.....it helps a lot on that lift.
No need to go all the way round ime. about a 1/4 way round for headstem and swingarm bearings. To go all the way around increases the chances of failure for a novice race welder, like welding the bearing in there. A good dremel can fix a lot of stuff, but who wants to go there.
Whoops! I do! It's sitting on top of my tool chest. I used it a couple times last week on the new Guzzi. I'll have to bring that by soon.
Hi All, I live up in the Dahlonega area and need to get my driveshaft out of my swing arm. I saw the old post (2 years old!) and wondered if that person might still be around. Thanks in advance.
Yep. I have a home made one ... works beautifully. I can also either lend it to you or show you this ... http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=800019 PM me if you just wanna borrow mine ... but the example above cost me around $20 ... and an afternoon with the welder ;-)
What a great tool 2 years later and I'm still saying "I gotta make one of those". Maybe that extended swingarm will finally force me to.
