I'll be out on the Pen making the loop with my mate. Camping Fri / Sat.
    Last go before the snow.

The OlyRats are doing our monthly second Saturday street/pavement ride. The ride is not too ambitious this month. We are meeting at Trioumph of Tacoma at 10 (when it opens) and tehn heading t Port Orchard via waterfront-ish back roads east of 16. After that we'll figure it oout but will include a lunch stop and probably a run through the curves at Dewatto and Tahuya (which shoiuld be leaf covered, silty and damp - all good). You lot are welcome to join us.

Well, I hit FS 27 and FS 28 out of Quilcene along with some time on 2840 and some of the spurs off of each. Everything is still passable, no snow accumulation. This, of course, can change very quickly. Very nice day, a bit brisk too. No pics, the camera battery was dead. :doh

Made it out to FS 27, 2740 and some of the spurs today. DRZ ran well. Snow level is fairly high, no GPS so elevation is unknown. Weather wasn't bad, lots of seasonal streams, hit some rain on the way home, no biggie.

No sign of dust in the Olympics today. Snow level was down to about 3000 ft and definitely a little cold in the shaded areas. Just beautiful though and no traffic.

LoFlow, our paths would have crossed except for the snow up on top. I did notice your tracks when I backtracked to the other side of the mountain.
I did have the camera running for some time. The picture is a link.

I really thought I could make it over the top, well at least I stopped trying before I got in too much trouble. I'm getting a little wiser with age.

Yeah all day long up there and I didn't see another rider or any tracks. I spent alot of time southwest of Spider on those roads you had shown Brian and I. Nice! But one more good snow and that place is done for the year. Snow's nice but I don't care for it hanging around up there so long in the spring.

I had that same question 2 weeks ago, and called the FS Pacific office in Quinault. Sorry, I forgot the guy's name, but he is in charge of FS 22 and FS 23, and drives those roads on a daily (?) basis. If you call the office there, and ask for the "road manager" they will put you through to him.

BTW, 2 weeks ago there wasn't snow anywhere. Old news, I know.
