allowing fluid back in from where? ive got a dana 44 empty housing if you want to look at it, its like any other solid axle ive ever seen. drain it, refill a known amount, run it, and check later, and check real good for leaks, pinion seal, diff cover, and at the ends of the axle tubes. its going somewhere, and youd have to do something silly to get it hot enough to vent otherwise. silly, like running a detroit locker on the interstate..
I feel your pain Mike feels like a full time job just keeping the house working enough to be liveable over here.
I had to replace every faucet and water shutoff in the house this summer, along with both toilet valve assemblies. I'm just glad that I don't have to pay someone to do everything.
Good for Lowe's. I'm not, but most of my family/friends are. I prefer to do business with companies that respect our troupes.
welp...I got him! I secured a rat trap to the board and the rat took the bait! If you look at the 1 o'clock position of the tub, you will see the rat as it fell off the board. Apparently, as he pushed on the lever and the trap sprung, he jumped backwards but was not quick enough. The trap bar slammed right across its face. I found the rat on the ground on the left side of the tub the light kinda washes this pic out but you can see me holding the DEAD rat by the tail!
If I were single, no kids, no hobbies, and read more books, worked on less stuff, and didnt feel the need to fix things, that would be a great option. at this point in my life, it is not a valid one though. Im bouncing between living out in the woods with a giant workshop, or burning all of this shit to the ground and living on a sailboat on the coast
I am game for skipping that 28 deg stuff too...hell for all I care, I would be happy riding to your place and we just ride somewhere and do lunch..right now I dont care if we do hwy or dirt! How abt some back roads out to Gentry and back?
What a great name for a sailboat. If this wasn't the only home my Mom has known since '85, and my Daughter didn't have such a sentimental attachment to it, I would love to live in a condo/townhouse. So long as I have a secure garage to store my stuff. Maybe after Mom has to go to a 24hr care facility.
Nevermind. I figured it out. There are two screws that hold the brake line to the axle with a bracket. I remember when I installed it that these go through the axle tube, essentially making a hole. The oil appears to be leaking out through there. And, you're right in that it must be getting hot because the oil is low. I'll clean it up, RTV the holes and refill it. Just not tonight. Good thing the weather will be warmer tomorrow. I can take the bike.
I went in to the class with an open mind, assuming I didn't know jack about riding. The instructor was constantly telling at me to tighten up my knees, turn my head, relax my hands, etc... It was like having a personal trainer. nlp
