My machinist in Kansas got some parts out to me. I'm stoked!





I've had a few different frame mounted light setups but this will be, by far, the nicest. I can't wait to start testing! I'm going to steal Frog's idea and go out early tomorrow Morning Pre-dawn.

Took a step backward this weekend when I rode my practice bike into about 5 feet of water. No water in the oil but alot of sand in the airbox. I'll probably need to do a top end on it this weekend.

I did get about 100 miles of night riding in though. Killed about 20 field mice and 2 rabbits. It was weird, at one point I was unsure if they were commiting suicide or attacking.



We are still finalizing the light design. Kansas Machine Co. Inc. Ltd. did a sweet redesign on the frame bracket. Dropped some mat'l and consequently some lb's.





I am psyched to get everything mounted and tested!

That is way more fancy than the one I am working on. I should have some pics of my light today or tomorrow. This damn work thing is really making it hard to get things done. Looks like our light should be around 7 lbs and with two 50w HIDs.

Haha!, that is my neice, her and big sis are a riot! I'm as excited to go see them after the race, as I am about the race itself.

I will use this setup during the day, save the bigguns for the nightime.
These Squadrons are amazingly bright, better throw and brighter than the Diablo HID. If I run into the dark before getting the big lights I'm good, plus they are an added safety factor, making me visible during the day. I have had alot of close calls with spectators going backwards on the course.

We are going to be running a HID in the day also, that way if we are late getting to the light we have something. Sucks about the water in the bike, hope everything is good with it.

There must be something wrong with your Diablo.

The squadron is bright and they have a decent pattern, but they do not have as good of coverage as the Diablo.

The great thing about them is the temperature and the weight.

Still, nothing beats Dual 8"!

I could be wrong but I don't think so, there were two Diablos out there that night. One was brand new. The other, my old light, had dozens of races and about a million miles on it. Plus there is not much that could be wrong with an HID system and it still function. It works or it doesn't (or it strobes and you go into a Petit Mal seizure) but you can't "dim" an HID.

The Squadron's biggest downfall is that (in the KTM mask) it has a blind spot created by the fender.

LEDs are great up to about 65mph... Above that you will out run thr light!!!
I have done HOURSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS of testing.
BD has a few new things they are working on ... BUT !

IMO!!!! Duel 8" HID is the BEST thing STILL !!!

Nope, During the Day I can run well over 100mph and the light emitted from my LED still gets down-course faster than me and my bike. By quite a bit, outpacing me by about 670,616,520mph.

annnd......I know, that is what I am using (Dual 8" HID). If you read the thread I stated that.

All LED's are not the same.

Well, after a decade of racing Baja you'd think I would know better than to break my shoulder weeks before a race, but apparently I don't.



Im bummed to say the least, I just about had all my prep done too.
