"...And I'm still a believer that good looking bikes tend to be the winners...."
I believe we have a winner. If they would get a good looking paint job (i.e. more than one color - maybe some black and maybe some, say, kumquat or orange) on the Duk, I think it would be a front runner.

Here's a cupla pix from a cupla hours ago....From the Troy Bayliss Classic. Held at Troys home track, The Old Bar, in Taree. He assembled a reasonable field of talent, and they weren't messing around! Racers being racers and all.:evil
This is where most of our Aussie riders come from, Dirt Track. Stoner included, and I'm kind of surprised he wasn't there, considering he lives just up the road, then again, maybe he was?
This particular track is an oiled jobby, meaning it has waste oil mixed into the dirt, to hold it together, and eliminate the dust. Gives awesome grip too. However, after a day of constant drizzle, you could imagine it ain't too groovy:huh
The field included; Bayliss, Randy De Puniet, Broc Parkes, Vermuelen, Jason Crump, Garry McCoy, Josh Waters (Oz SBK Champ & BSB this year), Nick Waters (BSB), Josh Brookes (BSB), Josh Hook ( BSB), Troy Herfoss ( OZ & AMA Supermoto Champ), Damien Cudlin ( World Endurance & German Supers), and so on.
I would imagine there were some team managers around the world gnashing there're teeth tonight! These guys had bugger all to win, and shitloads to lose. Good on em! They raced hard.:freaky

Not sure it's all that big a loss for Moto GP, he lost all desire to be there , why should he not move on and let someone who really wants to be there move up.
His transition to four wheels may be more difficult than he thinks. Many former motorcycle racers have tried and found it to be a tough change.
Personally i wish him luck and hope he does well , it's about time for a new star there anyway.

Not sure where this picture is from , but it looks suspiciously like Harbor Island in Tampa, FL.

That pic is from Laguna 2011. I have this one of Marco from the same race, maybe even the same session/trip through the pits, but in mine his leathers are zipped up higher. He has the same security guy walking with him!

And here he is heading from his motorhome to the pit box.

    Since it's off-season, i'll post one more.

This is Nicky and I, taken with my iphone. He commented on my Rossi hat and Spies sweatshirt, but was still a great sport. The bitch is I was wearing a Nicky T-shirt that he had signed and I had bought from his Dad under the sweatshirt but it was too damn cold!

    [IMG][/IMG]

I took similar pictures with Spies, Elias, Edwards, and Bautista but when I asked Rossi he told me he didn't speak english and kept walking! :lol3

At Indy in 2010, Rossi crashed in one of the practices. When He came out of the garage to hop on the scooter with Uccio, I shouted at him; "VALENTINO, WHAT HAPPENED?" Never missing a beat he said "I crash" and sped off. Turned out I got the best interview...
