Glad you're relatively ok KS. Could have been much worse. Hate the insurance situation. I did about the same thing without collision on the bike, but luckily there was deer hair matted all over the bike so comprehensive picked it up. The agent said without the deer hair I would have been screwed.

I didn't intend to suggest that, but I'm in PA under the influence of Yuengling so surely I cannot be held responsible.:freaky

Dang. :eek1 that sucks. And if I crash one of my bikes I'm going to be in the same boat. but mine are not worth as much as the GS.

I have a few numbers to some bike grave yards, pm me if you want them, i don't know if they have BMW's but it's worth a try if you rebuild it. I say a bikes never dead until you decide it's worth more as parts then whole. but with E-bay and time you can rebuild anything.

I like your post, but I sure felt bad to see the man down. The bike is part of the deal, and I was glad to hear that all worked out. Pictures and your story line was good, and I hope to see your State some day. It reminds me of the Eastern side of Alberta Canada in a few of the pictures. Alberta's South/ Eastern most corner of the Province feeds the your State water. It is called the Milk River. I hope to follow it all the way down there on my ride. Keep up the good work, and play safe with wheels down brothers

    Another ride through Backwoods, MS...

    Riders:

    Trailblazzer990 (KTM990), Supahflid (KTM990), DavidQ (KTM990), Knightwork (1200GSA), Cliff-77(F650GS), ldmcain(S-10), and myself (Tiger 800XC)

    Location: Mostly Southwest MS...

Knightwork, DQ, Supah and myself met for breakfast at Heart & Soul, as is our normal Saturday meeting place. Trailblazer990 had posted up that he was going riding and to meet at the truckstop in Utica, MS at 9. So we met for breakfast at 7 and were on the road headed for Utica by 8. A cool run down the Interstate and Hwy 18 got us to Utica in plenty of time. ldmccain soon joined us (with a Harley buddy in tow who just tagged along to meet us. He is in the market for a DS bike.) And lucky for us, cliff-77 happened to stop for gas on his way to Natchez and saw us and decided to join our group. Trailblazer is always fun to follow... and try to keep up with. He has been riding these roads for years and knows them all without GPS. We established ride rules and headed out...

The weather was perfect and the gravel was fast and the dust was low do to a recent rain back on Monday!

We soon made it to the Hunt Road waterfall...And DQ was feeling froggy and headed down under the bridge...

There is some deep sand in places
    [IMG]

Gotta be careful if you go under the bridge... Appears to be the party spot. Lots of graffiti, broken glass, trash, etc.

(I think this is where I got a flat on the KLR during the dFR route!)

Lined up on top of the bridge...

I meant to ask Bob (or anyone else) if they knew what all of these old metal things were used for...

While DQ was trying to talk me into taking my brand new Tiger down there to break it in, Larry decided he would try it...

    So far so good!

Oops! There is some rip-rap rocks under those leaves!!!

Boy, that sands looks deep! :lol3
    [IMG]

Sand, rocks, water... All in one place!

One last stretch of sand and...

    Oops...

    Here comes the cavalry...

I guess Knightwork is spanking it for getting stuck?!?

And the peanut gallery up on the bridge... (DQ and Cliff-77)

    More to come...

The Orange Coolaid is strong with this group... Trailblazer patiently waiting for the rest of us to get a break! :lol3
    [IMG]

Cliff and I were on the "small" bikes of the group! :D
    [IMG]

It was unnerving to try to ride the narrow board track on the right one handed while taking the picture...

So right after we took the turn above, we go a mile or so and suddenly start slowing and Supah has his flashers on and pulls over... As I stop and get my gear off, we find out he ran out of gas.

    Borrow a siphon hose?

She ran out of gas, so i had to lay her down...:lol3
    [IMG]

The bikes that are NOT out of gas... :evil
    [IMG]

So lets get the KTM tank lower to siphon out of the S10 while Knightwork goes to chase down DQ and Trailblazer...

Lesson one: Garden hose does not fit down in a S10 tank very well.
Lesson two: A 2 liter coke bottle can be used as a temporary gas can.
Lesson three: When everyone else TOPS OFF, DO IT TOO!!! (Just kidding, Supah!)

DQ and Knightwork returned with a 2 liter bottle of gas and got us all to the station.

When we got to the station this woman had just topped off her tank and was having trouble kickstarting her shovelhead...

With everyone gassed up, it was time for some gas station chicken... (I bet Supah's tasted like gas!)

After lunch, DQ had to cut out to make it back for a Christmas party, so then there were 6. Is this the dancing queen station?

Lots of loose boards on this bridge..

I finally caught up to the Trailblazer!!!

Thanks to the slow rolling road block, i was able to keep up!! :evil
    [IMG]

You would hope a road with a name like this would be awesome!!!!

And it lives up to its name!!!:clap
