VA Historical Markers – Let’s Find all 2200 of Them!

Marker should be near Arlington Rd. and Custis Tomb Dr. near Cape Charles, but is missing. Did find this at the site where Arlington once stood:



Arlington was established by John Custis II, who played a role in Bacon's Rebellion. A summary of this history plus details of the archeological study around the Arlington site can be found in this pdf (available on apva.org's rediscovery page) (may take a minute or two to load).

(Note: the back side of this marker is the Northampton side, with the same text as the Accomac side apart from square miles details, but the pic didn't turn out due to that side being dark dark... if during different lighting I can get something that the camera will pick up, I'll post that side up as well.)
