I was planning to take the big bike out for a short road trip today. But my never say "no" wife said NO. She isn't ready to see me riding yet. So shortly after she left. I took the dirt bike for a quick spin around the block.

So, it has started again. I will be in fine riding form for WF. I can't wait to get back on those high mountain trails.

    Thanks Duke
Every time that I am in the Arkansas valley I is awe struck. Next fall we all will be riding across the valley from where Duke is. We will be riding up in those snow capped mountains. I hope to make FMF. While I am there I want to get over to the WF side and take lots of photos.

This helps justify the cost of new tires:bite . Riding off the tarvy on Stradas is a bit unnerving at speed.

I am working on a deal to have ADVmember who rents bikes to come to the event. If it works out. Guys like you could ride your road bike to the rally. And rent a DS or dirt bike and ride some trails.

Just an update. Havn't got the formula completely figuresd out for beer training for WF09. But the beer per foot of incline formula is getting close. I'll be EXPERIMENTING this evening. Do not expect any results as I will be rather INVOLVED in the testing. Hope to have the formula nailed down soon. until then, figure a 6pack per 500 feet of incline difference consumed every first day:huh , and on fri., sat., double the intake. This Should get you ready for west fest:evil :lol3 :rofl I should get a kick back from the beer dist. :D

The T shirt design looks good.

(10 years ago) I love this side of the range, it's so different than the East side.

I can't post any details on the rentals. I am talking to the vendor. He is looking very hard at the amount of funds that it takes to make this happen. He is watching this thread. So if you have an interest in renting a DS or a Dirt bike. Please post about it.

    D00d!

It'll be your fault (and your pics), if I buy a barely legal dirt bike, and trailer it out to WF.:baldy

My wife is gonna be mad at you.:D

I'm dumb enough to give it a try anyway. You can do anything with anything just not at the same speed.

in 1998 I rode a street bike over Tincup Pass, from the St.Elmo side.

"They" told me it was easy enough that I could make it on my '83 FT500 Honda. And I did. I didn't set any time/trail records.

I thought I had really done something. When I got up there, some dude had come up the opposite side from Mirror Lake, on a seriously clapped out SOHC 750 Honda 4 cylinder.
