Good skills again Walter :thumb just sat and read through the whole schebang while sinking a few Peronis. I'm heading down to Morocco with a couple of fellow inmates in October, I'll have my missus on the back though, no way would she let me loose overseas on the bike without her :D

Can't wait now :clap

Hate to keep up an old thread usually but, this is amazing and if it had never had a new post I might have missed it forever. Morocco seems like the coolest place on earth. After googling the GPS coordinates I can see there's really no other place like it in Africa and likely no where else like it in the world.

I think I'd rather tour there for a year than S.A. or probably anywhere else. Thanks for making it my first destination after I win the lotto next week.

Want to help me buy one of those sexy XT660Z to do it on? :rofl

I hope this isn't considered a necroposting.

I was trying to find the DVD Walter mentioned, but couldn't find one, at least on Adventure Spec website. Was it ever released? (am particularly interested in GPS tracks and the like)

As a bit of value added text, here's a take on the Spanish vs French in Morocco. Consider the history of the land, and you will see that these two groups are kind of exactly opposite. Moroccans conquered Spain (well, the territory), ruled it prosperously and then lost it. The French ruled in Morocco, and then kinda lost it. Naturally, there is a lot of differences between the circumstances within and without those processes, but the background is there. You will find much more Moorish influence in Spain than Spanish in Morocco, and much more French influence in Morocco than Moroccan in French.

Thank you Walter for yet another great RR here on ADVrider.

This one is especially interesting for me, as I'll be leaving for Morocco in about two weeks time myself - Your RR has if possible made me even more eager to get going.

One question for you:
Several times you mention prices in euros - did you pay in euros or have you just "translate" the prices from Dirhams?

PS. I feel for you regarding the hurting ribs - I bend 2 ribs on the first day of EnduRomania back in 2010, resulting in a loooong and very painfull week of enduro riding.

What a ride, thanks for a great RR. I have two questions though:
1 How far apart were the fuel stops?
2 How often did you clean the air filter on your bikes?

Thanks!
