I saw that ad last month, posted in Toronto rather than Mtl. It was priced at $10 000 cdn which I think is a reasonable amount for a used F800 without bags. I am sure that there is a legitimate happy new owner. Probably an ADVer.
I just found this in my web cashe.

Thanks for the tips. I just had my gmail hijacked this week by a similar dickhead. They sent all my addresses a money request, saying I was in London and needed Pounds sent. Bunch of BS and I want to nail the jerks. What a waste of time. Looks like red flags and smells like poo.

Maybe she's also selling the '06 1200GS in Sharbot Lake for $7,500? (Kijiji Toronto).
I would think scamming in a village is a lot harder than in the city, heck, you could interview everybody in SL in a couple of hours.
    Cheers,

And just in case you don't know, E-Bay will not get involved in any transaction that does not start on E-bay. They also do not have a escrow service usable from outside of E-bay sales. I know because I strung along one of these scammers as long as I could just to see how they could steal your money, The E-Bay part really got me to looking into it.:ricky

I strung a scammer along for almost 3 1/2 months. I kept telling her I sent the Mon*y Gram and gave her the transaction #. They went down to the MG agent and there was nothing. I did this 16 times also with Western Un**n. I made up stories of losing my receipts, my crazy brother was supposed to send it, etc. Many of these Nigerians have tel. numbers in Washington State. There are laws that protect them there. The police can't do anything. It's a haven for them. I eventually had a guy leave a message on my cell with a thick African accent that I could barely understand. The number was a land line in Seattle. I drove them nuts for a long time. :D
