Even though this is not a F1 site I find the best tech info here over all the EUR sites I lurk at.

    Thanks for That

That vid says 6 jumbo jets of gear from Europe. What percentage of an F1 team's budget is devoted to travel and transportation?

Whatever Bernie is paying. Just like motogp, I believe travel is all subsidized by the organizing body

Anyone interested in a F1 Pool?

Pick the top 6 qualifiers for 1-6 points and the top 6 finishers for the same points the drivers get. Any fines or penalties, unless they occured in the race, wouldn't count to keep it simple. Just how they really finished.

Maybe a bonus 10 points for fastest lap pick?

    We have 19 races.

    Any interest?

we did the Pirelli GP challenge last year. I won some Pirelli swag & Michelle won a set of tires! Not too shabby.
Didn't have to pick quali though, just 1-2-3, fast lap & shortest cumulative pit time.

sadly they aren't doing it this year.

Don't know if this correct, it has been a few years.
I seem to remember Eddie Jordan complaining about the team points system and the reimbursement of travel expenses. The more manufacturer points a team earned, the higher their travel reibersement was.

That's a good way to look at Hamilton. I guess my question is, is that how he himself looks at it? Or will his head explode if they have a long run of not being competitive? He's pretty high strung, unlike the analytical and always-scheming Schumacher.

I sort of think the same thing....
I mean they all WANT to win. beating your team mate: job 1, being WDC job 2! finishing somewhere in the pack? not an option....

    Hello chaps!
thanks for keeping the F1 fires on tickover over the layoff. :1drink

    About the above...
Oh I dont know, I reckon at heart all great racers have that edge to them, are a bit "Hamilton-esque".
The difference with Michael was, I think, that he was very skilled in the public facade thing. It only ever slipped a couple of times that I can remember. ( Coulthard chasing anyone?) But I bet the toys came out of the pram as and when needed behind the scenes.
Lewis is just not any good at all at the facade, at covering up his emotions. He is honest, if you like. I bet he sees it as honesty...

Anyway, I like that he is open like that... and much prefer it to the controlled PR type persona of a Michael.
But I am a big Lewis fan! Hope he has a great season.

That's correct. It's bit of an incentive and is one reason why they still race each other further down the field even when a win isn't remotely possible.

I'd suggest Tom Cruise for the part of Stirling. That would be one RALF playing another RALF. :D
